Resistance Exercise in Children With Post-operative Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia

HerniasDiaphragmatic1 more

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a life-threatening condition with long-term complications including respiratory tract infections, respiratory muscle weakness, and abnormal lung functions. This study, therefore, has been designed to ascertain the effect of chest resistance exercise and chest expansion exercise on respiratory muscle strength, lung function, and chest mobility in children with post-operative CDH.

M-Tapa Block for Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair Surgery

HerniaInguinal

Modified Perichondral Approach Thoracoabdominal Nerve (M-TAPA) block is a novel block that provides effective analgesia of the anterior and lateral thoracoabdominal walls during laparoscopic surgery, in which local anesthetic is applied only to the lower side of the perichondral surface. M-TAPA block is a good alternative for analgesia of the upper dermatome levels and the abdominal lateral wall, and may be an opioid-sparing strategy with satisfactory quality improvement in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery. M-TAPA block provides analgesia at the level of T5-T11 in the abdominal region. Sonoanatomy is easy to visualize and the spread of local anesthetic can be easily seen. Analgesia occurs in several dermatomes thanks to the cephalocaudal spread of the local anesthetic solution. There are studies in the literature investigating the effectiveness of M-TAPA block for post-operative pain management in several abdominal surgeries.

Comparing Erector Spinae Plane (ESP) and Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) Block in Inguinal Hernia...

Inguinal HerniaPostoperative Pain3 more

The Erectore Spinae Plane Block (ESP Block) is a recently described technique for regional anesthesia that has shown promising results in the treatment of pain after thoracic surgery. It involves the injection of local anesthetic behind the musculature of the back. The investigators intend to compare this technique with a more standardized one, the TAP Block, which involves injection of anesthetic behind the musculature of the abdomen. 50 patients undergoing robotic inguinal hernia repair under general anesthesia will be randomly selected to receive, in addition to general anesthesia, either the ESP block or the TAP block. Patients receiving an ESP Block will also receive an injection of saline solution in the TAP injection site, and the other way around. This will prevent preconceived ideas on either technique to influence the evaluationso of the effect. Pain scores and consumption of pain medication will be recorded during the 24 hours following the operation to compare the effect of the two techniques.

Effect of Decompression With and Without ELDOA in Lumber Disc Protrusion Patients

Lumbar Disc Herniation

The study will be conducted to determine the effects of spinal decompression with and without ELDOA in patients of lumbar disc protrusion. A total of twenty patient with lumber disc protrusion will be taken after fulfilling the inclusion criteria. the patient will be divided in experimental group i.e. ELDOA along with decompression and control group. Both session got pre and post session along with general low back exs.home plan along with precautions was guided to every patient of control and experimental group.NPRS ,ODI is assess in first and fourth session. The data will be analyzed through IBM SPSS version 21.

Is Regression Possible in Lumbal Disc Herniation With Spinal Mobilization Applications?

Intervertebral Disc DisplacementDisk Herniated Lumbar1 more

Spinal mobilization methods are passive maneuvers that are made lighter and do not exceed the physiological range of motion in order to increase joint mobility. Mobilization applications are easier and safer than manipulation applications involving forceful pushing. Although there are many literatures reporting the therapeutic efficacy of long-term mobilization applications on LDH, there is no study on the effect of applications on radiological findings of LDH. In the light of the information mentioned above, the aim of this study is; To examine the effect of mobilization applications on radiological findings and functional level in patients with LDH

Comparison of Artificial Disc Implants in Cervical Disc Arthroplasty

Cervical Spondylosis With MyelopathyCervical Radiculopathy2 more

This study will comprehensively evaluate the outcomes and endpoints of these two different FDA-approved artificial disc implants used to treat cervical spondylotic myelopathy and/or radiculopathy today: Biomet Zimmer Mobi-C and Nuvasive Simplify. Both implants are structurally different with the Nuvasive Simplify implementing a three-piece design with two endplates and a semi-constrained mobile core while the Biomet Zimmer Mobi-C implements an unconstrained three piece design. Subjects will be age-matched and randomly assigned to either implant with informed consent. All subjects will undergo a variety of assessments that evaluate neck disability, quality of life, pain, physiological outcome (radiographic assessments), and neck range-of motion before and after their procedure. One baseline testing will be conducted along with three post-operation visits (three months, six months, and one year) in accordance to standard follow-up procedure. Thus, the duration of participation in the study will be approximately one and a half years.

Inguinal Hernia RepairPain1 more

Abdominal wall hernias are common, with a prevalence of 1.7% for all ages and 4% for those aged over 45 years. Inguinal hernias account for 75% of abdominal wall hernias, with a lifetime risk of 27% in men and 3% in women. Repair of inguinal hernia is one of the most common operations in general surgery
