Risk Factors of Venous Thromboembolism After Incisional Ventral Hernia Repair.
Incisional HerniaVenous ThromboembolismAim of our study is to find frequency and risk factors for venous thromboembolism development in patients who underwent surgery for incisional ventral hernia. There were 240 patients enrolled in our retrospective observational cohort study. Included patients were operated for incisional hernia in Saveljev University Surgery Clinic from January 2018 to December 2019. Compression duplex ultrasound of lower legs veins was performed in 2-4 days after surgery for all participants. The primary endpoint was the occurrence of the venous thromboembolism event, including pulmonary embolism.
The Incidence of Thoracic Disc Herniation in Patients Presenting With Chronic Upper Back Pain
Thoracic Disc HerniationPatients who applied to the Private Medar Hospital between February 2016 and February 2021 with chronic upper back pain and were diagnosed with Thoaracic Disc Herniatin (TDH) (with Thoracic vertebral MRI) and followed up for at least 1 year will be included in the study. Patients diagnosed with TDH were included in the medical treatment and/or physical therapy program. Before and after these treatment programs, the pain intensity of the patients was recorded with the visual analog scale (VAS). The number of patients who applied to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation outpatient clinic with chronic upper back pain between February 2016 and February 2021 will be researched, and the demographic characteristics of those diagnosed with TDH will be selected and recorded in their files, their pre- and post-treatment VAS scores, and the results will be analyzed statistically.
Preoperative Magnetic Resonance Imaging Abnormalities Predictive of Lumbar Herniation Recurrence...
Lumbar Disc HerniationThere are currently no standard criteria for evaluating the risk of recurrent disk herniation following surgical repair. This study investigated the predictive values of five presurgical imaging parameters, paraspinal muscle quality, annular tear size, Modic changes, modified Pfirrmann's disc degeneration grade, and presence of sacralization or fusion. Clinical status and MRI findings were evaluated before surgery and 4, 12, and 24 months post-surgery using a Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), and Short Form 36 (SF36).
Does Pregnancy Increase Risk of Ventral Hernia Recurrence?
Recurrent Hernia of Anterior Abdominal WallThe investigators will examine if pregnancy increases risk of ventral hernia recurrence
Robotic Utility for Surgical Treatment of Umbilical Hernias
HerniaUmbilicalThe purpose of this study is the measurement of the evolution of the operation time during the start-up phase of robotic assisted surgery for the treatment of incisional hernia's of 40 patients treated in Maria Middelares in laparoscopic rTARUP technique.
Management of Giant Thoracic Disc Hernias by Thoracoscopy: Experience of 52 Cases
Giant Thoracic HerniationMyelopathyIntroduction: Giant thoracic disc herniation is a rare condition for which surgical treatment is indicated when there are signs of spinal cord injury. To date, several surgical techniques have been described in the treatment of this condition on small patient series. The main objective is to evaluate the long-term results of a series of 53 patients treated with a minimally invasive endoscopic procedure. The secondary objective is to explain our pre-operative planning and the technical details of our procedure. METHOD: Retrospective monocentric study on a cohort of patients treated in our department. The following medical data from our database are analyzed: Morbidity of operative gesture (duration of procedure, bleeding, postoperative complications), clinical results at the last follow-up visit (thoracic Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score, Frankel score, parietal pain , ability to walk, wish to carry out the same intervention again if necessary). On the radiological level, we evaluated the quality of the resection (total, subtotal, incomplete and impossible), the reappearance of a border of cerebrospinal fluid perimedullary and the presence of an intramedullary T2 hyperintense signal MRI post- operative. All these data are collected and analyzed anonymously. Expected Results: We believe we can demonstrate that thoracoscopy is a valid therapeutic option in the treatment of thoracic disc herniation responsible for spinal cord compression. This with a low morbidity given the minimally invasive nature of the approach.
The SymCHro - Observational Registry Study for Symbotex™ Composite Mesh in Ventral Hernia Repair...
Ventral Incisional HerniaThe aim of this Observational Registry Study is to assess the short- and long-term clinical outcomes following the use of Symbotex™ Composite Mesh in primary and incisional abdominal wall hernia surgeries by open or laparoscopic approach, according to the Instruction for use (IFU).
Corona Mortis in Patients Undergoing TEP for Inguinal Hernia
Inguinal HerniaPelvic Fracture2 moreThis study aim to describe the presence, type and size of Corona mortis (CMOR) in patients undergoing total extraperitoneal (TEP) inguinal hernia repair procedures. This study also aim to describe the preperitoneal vascular anatomy of inguinal area and provide in vivo knowledge about CMOR.
Evaluation of Surgical Techniques in Cirrhotic Patients With Ventral Hernias
Ventral Hernias in Cirrhotic Patientsventral hernias are defects of the anterior abdominal wall, which can be congenital or acquired including epigastric, umbilical and incisional hernia. Umbilical hernias represent a common surgical problem in cirrhotic patient with ascites with 20% incidence. This work was deigned to assess outcome of different techniques of closure of ventral hernias in cirrhotic patients.
Repair of Groin Hernias After Abdominal Prostatectomy With Robotic TAPP
Inguinal HerniaThis retrospective study investigates if robotic assisted groin hernia repair in patients who previously underwent abdominal prostatectomy has an equal or more favorable clinical outcome, compared to open repair in those patients.
