Study Comparing the Immune Response of Fluarix and Fluzone Influenza Vaccines

The purpose of this study is to compare two licensed influenza vaccines (Fluzone and Fluarix) in terms of the immune response elicited and the safety/ any symptoms that may occur for up to six months after vaccination.

This study evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of 3 formulations of Hib-MenCY-TT vaccine compared to 2 control groups receiving licensed meningococcal serogroup C conjugate vaccine and/or licensed Hib conjugate vaccine administered at 2, 4, and 6 months of age. Antibody persistence and immune responses to polysaccharide vaccine boosters were additionally assessed at 11 to 14 months of age.

Inactivated Influenza A/H9N2 Vaccine With and Without MF59 Adjuvant in Ambulatory Adults

Influenza

The purpose of this study is to compare the body's reactions and immune responses after receiving different strengths of a H9N2 influenza virus vaccine with and without an adjuvant given into the arm muscle. Study participants will include up to 96 healthy adults, ages 18-34. The 4 dosages of the experimental H9N2 vaccine to be tested in this study are the following: 3.75, 7.5, 15, and 30-mcg (with and without MF59 adjuvant). Participants will be vaccinated on Days 0 and 28. Participants will record any vaccine side effects in a diary for 7 days following each vaccination. Participants will return to the clinic on days 2 and 7 after vaccination. Blood samples will be collected 7 days following each vaccination. Serum and nasal wash specimens will be collected before each vaccination and 4 weeks after injections (0, 4, and 8 weeks). Participants will be involved in study related procedures for up to 8 months.

Influenza Vaccine in Pediatric Transplant Subjects

Influenza

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well children responds to the recommended trivalent subviron influenza vaccine (flu shot). Children who have had a liver transplant and receive their post-transplant care at Mount Sinai and their siblings are being invited to participate in this study. Study procedures will include a review of medical records, physical examination, and up to 2 flu shots. All participants will receive the flu vaccine. Four weeks after the first flu shot, participants will return to the clinic for a physical exam, blood sample collection, and a second flu shot as recommended. Following each vaccination, parents will be asked to record their children's temperatures and any experienced side effects in a diary card for two weeks. Participants will be involved in study related procedures for up to 8 months.

The purpose of this research study is to compare how the body reacts to different strengths of the new H5N1 flu vaccine. The study will also look at how antibodies are made after a subject receives the H5N1 flu vaccine. The vaccine will be given as a shot in the arm. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive 1 of 4 different dosages of the vaccine or a placebo (dummy) dose of the vaccine. Study procedures will include a physical exam, a urine pregnancy test for women, and blood samples. Participants will be asked to complete a diary to record temperatures, medications taken, and side effects from the vaccine. Volunteers will be involved with study procedures for approximately 7 months. The study will enroll about 450-470 healthy participants, ages 18-64.

Study to Eliminate Hib Carriage in Rural Alaska Native Villages

Hib disease rates in rural Alaska before introduction of HIb conjugate vaccine were among the highest in the world. Since vaccine introduction, rates have fallen by 90% but the disease has not been eliminated. This study is designed to test one possible means of eliminating Hib carriage and thus to eliminate person to person transmission and invasive disease. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of community-wide use of Hib conjugate vaccine for eliminating oropharyngeal Hib carriage in rural Alaska villages. Secondary objectives include: Determine risk factors for Hib OP carriage including demographic characteristics, and immunologic characteristics (antibody level and function). This will be accomplished through a case-control study described below. Measure antibody response to Hib conjugate vaccine among adults who have not previously received Hib vaccine. This will be accomplished through a cohort study of participating adults in the vaccine intervention communities.

This EPSS will determine the vaccinee reporting rates (RRs) of suspected ADRs following routine vaccination with VaxigripTetra® and Efluelda® respectively, during the NH influenza season 2023/24. The primary objective of this surveillance is to estimate the vaccinee reporting rate (RR) of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) occurring within 7 days following routine vaccination with VaxigripTetra® and Efluelda® respectively, during the Northern Hemisphere (NH) influenza season 2023/24. Study duration per participant 2 months (including 6 weeks for VC distribution 2 weeks for vaccinee reporting) following the first vaccination

The goal of this observational study is to compare the FINDER FLU A/B, RSV, SARS-CoV-2 Test to an FDA-cleared device. The study will utilize prospectively collected de-identified nasopharyngeal samples obtained from both pediatric and adult populations from subjects presenting with symptoms of respiratory illness. The main question it aims to answer are: • the study is to validate that the device intended use in terms that the device's performance meets the criteria for substantial equivalence with a predicate and satisfies the statutory criteria for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waiver.

This is a prospective multicenter study conducted to evaluate the performance of the LumiraDx SARS-CoV-2 & Flu A/B tests at point of care sites. Subjects presenting with symptoms suggestive of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and Influenza at the time of the study visit will be enrolled and asked to donate swab sample(s) for testing on the device under evaluation.
