A Study of Intravenous Zanamivir Versus Oral Oseltamivir in Adults and Adolescents Hospitalized...

InfluenzaHuman

The purpose of this study is to test the safety and efficacy of zanamivir given intravenously and how well it works at two different doses in hospitalized adolescents and adults with flu. Zanamivir will be compared with oseltamivir, which is used for treating flu.

A/H5N1/LT Dose Ranging Study

Pandemic Influenza

This is a Phase 2, randomized, blinded, clinical trial. Up to 500 eligible subjects will be enrolled and randomized in a 1:2:2:1:2:2 ratio into one of six groups, and vaccinated in this study. Subjects will receive an intramuscular injection of the influenza A/H5N1 (low or high dose) on Day 0 with or without a patch (low or high dose).

Single Dose Escalating Study of DAS181 in Adults

Influenza

This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability, and systemic exposure of an experimental influenza (flu) treatment medication called DAS181. DAS181 is a dry powder that is administered via oral inhalation using a special device. Study participants will include up to 60 healthy, non-smoking males and females, ages 18-65. They will be given either DAS181 or placebo. Participants will remain in the clinic overnight to be watched for health changes for 24 hours after receiving the medication. Study procedures include: physical exams, chest x-rays, ECGs, lung function tests, collection of blood and urine samples, and throat swabs. Follow-up visits will occur on study days 2, 7, 14 +/- 1 day, and 30 +/- 2 days. Participants will be involved in the study for up to 61 days, which includes the screening period.

A Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic Study of Oseltamivir in Immunocompromised Children With Confirmed...

Influenza

This open-label, randomized, adaptive, 2-arm, multicenter study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of oseltamivir (Tamiflu) in immunocompromised children, less than (<) 13 years of age, with confirmed influenza infection. Participants will be randomized to receive either the standard dose or triple dose of oseltamivir orally daily for a minimum of 5 days and up to 20 days. Infants <1 year of age will be randomized to the standard dose arm only.

Anti-Influenza Hyperimmune Intravenous Immunoglobulin Pilot Study (INSIGHT 005: Flu-IVIG Pilot)...

Influenza

The purpose of this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of intravenous hyperimmune immunoglobulin (Flu-IVIG) in individuals with influenza A or B is to determine the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of Flu-IVIG and assess whether antibody levels observed following Flu-IVIG transfusion are similar to those predicted. This pilot study will inform a larger study that will be powered to compare Flu-IVIG with placebo for efficacy.
