Realization of the Recommendation for Influenza Vaccination in Pregnant Women
Coverage Rate of Vaccination for InfluenzaIntroduction: In 2010, the vaccination recommendations for pregnant women against seasonal influenza were published by the German Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO). This work deals with the immunization coverage and the influencing factors. Method: A cross-sectional study was realized at two Level 1 perinatal centers in two German federal states during the influenza saisons 2012/2013 and 2013/2014. Pregnant women were interviewed by using a standardized and pre-tested questionnaire covering their knowledge about the influenza vaccination and other factors influencing the vaccination decision. Furthermore, data from the vaccination card and the pregnancy record booklet have been evaluated.
Evaluation of Moderate to Severe Influenza Outcomes in Children
InfluenzaOtitis Media4 moreThe purpose of this study was to determine whether moderate-severe endpoints (including high fever, lower respiratory tract disease, acute otitis media, or serious extra-pulmonary complications) were predictive of hospitalization, intensive care admission, antibiotic use and other complications in children under 8 years of age.
Extra-pulmonary Clinical Manifestations of Influenza Virus and Respiratory Syncitial Virus Infections...
InfluenzaRespiratory Virus Syncitial1 moreThe purpose of this study is to describe extra-pulmonary clinical manifestations of Influenza virus and Respiratory Syncitial Virus infections in hospitalized adults at a French university hospital.
Prospective System Analysis of the Seasonal Influenza Virus Transmissions and Evolution in the City...
InfluenzaThe project aims to use epidemiological tools to understand the transmission and evolution of influenza viruses at an individual and population level within a small-scale city (Basel) through a combination of experimental, clinical, and mathematical advances. Investigators aim to quantitatively characterize the viral transmission using novel molecular-epidemiological tools based on whole genome sequencing.

Factors Associated With Maintenance of Antibody Responses to Influenza Vaccine in Older, Community-Dwelling...
AgingLittle is known about factors associated with maintenance of hemagglutinin inhibition (HAI) antibodies after influenza vaccination in older adults so the investigators enrolled adults ≥50 years.
Detection of Influenza A, Influenza B, and RSV Using the Liat™ Assays on the Liat™ Analyzer
Influenza AInfluenza B1 moreThe objective of this study is to evaluate the clinical sensitivity and specificity of the Liat™ Influenza A/B & RSV Assay and the Liat™ Influenza A/B Assay when used on the Liat Analyzer to detect the presence or absence of Influenza A, Influenza B, and RSV in a nasopharyngeal swab specimen as compared to an FDA approved NAAT and culture.
Cost of Illness Associated With Influenza in the UK
InfluenzaThe objective of this study is to describe the burden associated with influenza in the UK, from both primary and secondary care perspectives, and to stratify the burden by the annual degree of mismatch between predicted and actual virus strains.
