Effect of Ezetimibe or Simvastatin or Both on Low Densitiy Lipoprotein -Subfractions in Patients...

Diabetes Mellitus Type 2Hypercholesterolemia

It is of interest how ezetimibe alone or in combination with statin may influence atherogenic dense Low Density Lipoprotein (dLDL) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The primary objective of this study will be whether there is a change of the concentrations of Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) in dLDL from baseline in each of the 3 treatment groups.

The Efficacy and Safety of Atorva® 20mg Versus Lipitor® 20mg

Hypercholesterolemia

The generic formulation of atorvastatin (Atorva®) 20mg was not inferior to the branded formulation of atorvastatin (Lipitor®) 20mg in this 8-week treatment of hyperlipidemic Korean patients. In PP analysis, the LDL cholesterol goal achievement rate was significantly higher in Atorva group. Both treatments were well tolerated.

Study of REGN1500 in Participants With Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HoFH)

Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia

This is an open-label, single-arm study to assess the reduction of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) by REGN1500 in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH).

Phase I Study of Ex Vivo Liver-Directed Gene Therapy for Familial Hypercholesterolemia

Familial Hypercholesterolemia

OBJECTIVES: I. Develop an approach for treating patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia using gene therapy with autologous hepatocytes transduced with a normal low-density lipoprotein receptor gene.

Hypercholesterolemia

To evaluate the percentage of patients with either established cardiovascular disease (CVD), at "high risk" of developing CVD or with diabetes who are on simvastatin 40mg, with fasting LDL-C > 2mmol/l, who are able to attain the recommended LDL-C target of < 2mmol/l following 6 weeks treatment with either ezetimibe/simvastatin 10/40mg, atorvastatin 40mg or rosuvastatin 10mg.

A Study of the Safety and Efficacy of Patients With Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Taking Colesevelam...

Familial Hypercholesterolemia

This study is designed to assess whether colesevelam given as third line treatment added to a maximal tolerated and stable dose of a statin and ezetimibe is able to further decrease the level of LDL cholesterol in a safe and efficient manner in difficult to treat Familial Hypercholesterolaemia patients who are not at their target level of LDL cholesterol.

Ezetimibe/Simvastatin (10 mg/40 mg) vs. the Doubling of Atorvastatin in High Risk Participants (MK-0653A-134...

Hypercholesterolemia

Participants currently taking atorvastatin 20 mg will be switched to either atorvastatin 40 mg or ezetimibe/simvastatin 10 mg/40 mg (10/40). After 6 weeks of treatment, the percent reduction in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) will be assessed and compared between the two treatment groups.

Study of the Efficacy and Safety of Alirocumab (REGN727/SAR236553) in Combination With Other Lipid-modifying...

Hypercholesterolemia

This is a randomized, double-blind, active-comparator, parallel-group study in patients at high cardiovascular risk with nonfamilial hypercholesterolemia or heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (heFH).

Genetic Causes of Familial Hypercholesterolemia

Familial Hypercholesterolemia

Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is a common disease. The genetic background to FH is not yet fully understood. In the present prospective cohort study we aim to study the association between different clinical characteristics, gene mutations and prognosis.
