preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF ≥ 50%) and are accompanied by dyslipidemia (LDL ≥ 100 mg / dl) will be enrolled. Only patients who do not meet the exclusion criteria should be enrolled in the study. Once the patient is selected, the patient is informed of the study and receives the consent form. Patients who are eligible for all of the criteria and who do not qualify as exclusion criteria should be enrolled in the study and randomly assigned in a 1: 1 dose of rosuvastatin/ezetimibe 10/10mg once daily or rosuvastatin 20 mg once daily. Patients who previously used statins have a wash-out period of 4 weeks or more. Patients will visit outpatient clinic at 12 weeks and 24 weeks after initiation of treatment. Physical examination, blood test, and 6 minute working test will be performed. For fasting blood tests, patients visit on an empty stomach. Drug adverse events and changes in vital signs or body weight will be checked. After 48 weeks of treatment, the patients will visit outpatient clinic for efficacy evaluation; physical examination, blood test, transthoracic echocardiography, cardiopulmonary exercise test, central blood pressure, and pulse wave velocity. Drug adverse events and medication compliance will be checked. The primary endpoint is change of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and secondary endpoint is improvement of diastolic dysfunction, VAC index, peak VO2, distance of 6 minute working test, and clinical outcomes including death, readmission rate.

Study to Assess the Effect of Zinc in Atorvastatin Treated Hyperlipidemic Patients

This study was 8 weeks randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial to assess the effect of zinc in Atorvastatin treated hyperlipidemic 92 patients. Participants were assessed at baseline, and 8 weeks. Subjects were randomized to receive either atorvastatin+placebo in one arm or atorvastatin +zinc 30mg tablet in another arm daily for 8 weeks. The outcome was the measure of fasting lipid profile, sgpt, serum creatinine at baseline and after 8 weeks following the intervention.

Compassionate Use of Metreleptin in Previously Treated People With Generalized Lipodystrophy

Background: - Generalized lipodystrophy can cause high blood fat levels and resistance to insulin. This can lead to health problems including diabetes. Researchers have found that the drug metreleptin improves health in people with this disease. Objective: - To test the safety and effectiveness of metreleptin. Eligibility: People ages 6 months and older with generalized lipodystrophy who: have received metreleptin through NIH studies AND cannot get it through approved or compassionate use mechanisms in their home country. Design: Participants will come to NIH approximately every 6 months during year one, then every 1 2 years. Financial assistance may be available for travel within the U.S. At visits, participants will get a supply of metreleptin to take home for daily injections. They will have: plastic catheter placed in an arm vein. blood tests, urine collection, and physical exam. oral glucose tolerance test, drinking a sweet liquid. ultrasound of the heart, liver, uterus, and ovaries. A gel and a probe are placed on the skin and pictures are taken of the organs. echocardiogram, which takes pictures of the heart with sound waves. Resting Metabolic Rate taken. A plastic hood is worn over the head while the oxygen they breathe is measured. Participants will have up to 3 DEXA scan x-rays per year. Participants may have: annual bone x-rays. liver biopsies every few years. A needle will be inserted into the liver to obtain a small piece. Participants will sign a separate consent for this. Participants must be seen regularly by their local doctors and have blood tests at least every 3 6 months at home.

The aim of this study is to include 100 selected patients with BMI higher than 27 and hyperlipidemia, and a crossover design is used to explore the efficacy of "Xian-Hua-Cha (XHC)" on relieving hyperlipidemia among obese patient. For this purpose, the changes of patients' body weight, body fat and the metabolic parameter including blood sugar, cholesterol, triglyceride are analyzed in the end of this study.
