Profiling of Radiological Factors in Treatment and Outcomes in Prostate Cancer

Prostatic CancerProstatic Neoplams3 more

Background: Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers for men in the U.S. There are some new ways to take pictures of the cancer. There are also new ways to use image-guided biopsy and therapy. These could help manage prostate cancer. Researchers want to study how imaging can provide a profile of prostate cancer. They want to collect data to make diagnosis and treatments better. Objectives: To gather data about the radiological and clinical course of prostate cancer. To study imaging-based biomarkers of prostate cancer. Eligibility: Men ages 18 and older with diagnosed or suspected prostate cancer Design: Participants will give permission for researchers to use their medical history and records. Their data will be reviewed, collected, and analyzed. These include results of their tests and scans. Sponsoring Institution: National Cancer Institute

Prone Versus Supine Positioning and the Impact on Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia in Very Low Birth Weight...

Prone PositioningBronchopulmonary Dysplasia

In this pilot study, the investigator team aims to evaluate whether standardized prone positioning compared to usual positioning improves moderate to severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) rates as assessed at 36 weeks post conceptional age in very low birth weight preterm infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

Defining the Basis of Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD)

Fibromuscular DysplasiaSpontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection1 more

The purpose of this study has evolved and expanded since its inception. Originally the intent was to establish the functional, molecular and genetic profile of fibroblasts from Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD) patients as compared to carefully matched control subjects. While this remains among the objectives, the study has been expanded to undertake a fully powered cross-tissue systems genetics analysis of FMD, and now also the related arteriopathies spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) and cervical artery dissection (CvAD). The overall objective is to disclose the core biologic mechanisms of these disorders.

Genetic and Functional Analysis of Craniometaphyseal Dysplasia (CMD)

Craniometaphyseal Dysplasia

CMD can be inherited in an autosomal dominant or recessive trait. CMD may also be caused by de novo mutations. The goal of this study is to identify genes and regulatory elements on chromosomes that are the cause for CMD. The investigators also study blood samples and tissue samples from patients to learn about the processes that lead to this disorder. The investigators long-term goal is to find mechanisms to slow down bone deposition in CMD patients.

China Adrenal Disease Registry

Cushing SyndromeAldosteronism6 more

Epidemiologic studies have revealed a tremendous increase in the prevalence of adrenal associated disease and related mortality worldwide. In order to meet all the therapeutic challenges in adrenal disease in China, CASE was founded in 2020. The objective of CASE is to launch an adrenal disease management model based on the Internet health information platform which allows the application and evaluation of adrenal disease treatment strategies at multiple centers. The proprietary electronic medical database will help the dynamic big-data analysis in epidemiology of adrenal disease, diagnosis, and treatment.

Leveraging Methylated DNA Markers (MDMs) in the Detection of Endometrial Cancer, Ovarian Cancer,...

Endometrial CancerCervical Cancer4 more

The overarching objective of this project is to develop a pan-gynecologic cancer detection test using gynecologic (unique endometrial, cervical, and ovarian cancer) cancer-specific methylated DNA markers and high-risk human papilloma virus (HR-HPV) detected in vaginal fluid and/or plasma. This proposal defines Phase II MDM-based cancer detection studies in endometrial cancer (EC) and endometrial hyperplasia with atypia (AEH) in tampon-collected vaginal fluid and 2) ovarian cancer (OC) in plasma and tampon-collected vaginal fluid. Additionally, it defines necessary Phase I MDM-based cancer detection and exploratory aims to test novel cervical cancer (CC) MDMs and test the specificity of cancer-specific MDMs among various common benign gynecologic pathologies.er detection and exploratory aims to test novel cervical cancer MDMs and test the specificity of cancer-specific MDMs among various common benign gynecologic pathologies.

Genetic and Electrophysiologic Study in Focal Drug-resistant Epilepsies

Refractory Focal EpilepsyFocal Cortical Dysplasia3 more

Brain somatic mutations in genes belonging to the mTOR signaling pathway are a frequent cause of cortical malformations, including focal cortical dysplasia or hemimegalencephaly. The present study aims to search for brain somatic mutations in paired blood-brain samples and perform functional validation in children with drug-resistant focal epilepsy

BPH Global Registry

Benign Prostatic HyperplasiaLower Urinary Tract Symptoms

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is one of the most common performed surgical procedures in urology. Over the past few decades there have been an increasing development of newer surgical treatment options. Additionally, the outcome parameters for BPH treatments have been standardized. While data are available for the initial pivotal studies, post-market release data are lacking. Under the umbrella of uCARE, we have started a prospective, ongoing international registry for recording demographics and outcomes for patients undergoing surgical treatments for BPH.

Prediction for Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia

Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia

In this Multi-center study performed from January 2018, we reviewed data on infants whose gestational ages were below 36 weeks. we collected data containing maternal diseases and neonatal clinical features. LASSO regression was used to select variables for the risk model. Then, we used multivariable logistic regression to build the prediction model incorporating these selected features. Discrimination was assessed by the C-index, and and calibration of the model was assessed by and calibration curve and the Hosmer-Lemeshow test.

Non-invasive Testing for Early oEesophageal Cancer and Dysplasia

Oesophageal CancerBarrett Esophagus1 more

This study aims to determine whether a breath test could be used for early detection of oesophageal cancer and Barrett's high grade dysplasia. Patients who are attending for a planned gastroscopy or who are scheduled to undergo elective resection of histologically confirmed early stage oesophageal adenocarcinoma or dysplasia will be approached to provide a breath sample. Multi platform mass spectrometry analysis will be performed to establish volatile biomarkers that can discriminate between early stage (T1) oesophageal cancer/ Hight grade dysplasia from non cancer healthy controls/non dysplastic Barrett's cancer.
