Evaluation of T1rho Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Diagnosis of Cartilage Lesions in Hips With Developmental...

Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip

One of the leading causes of hip arthritis is developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). DDH can lead to major damage in the hip joint and may result in hip arthritis later in life. Patients recruited into this study will be undergoing corrective hip surgery within the next 6 months with a goal of preventing further hip problems down the road. This study is being done to see how well a newer type of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) detects hip cartilage damage compared to an older but well validated MRI method.

Study of Predictive Biomarkers for Rational Management of Drug-resistant Epilepsy Associated With...

Refractory EpilepsyFocal Epilepsy1 more

Focal Cortical Dysplasias (FCDs) are neurodevelopmental disorders that represent a major cause of early onset drug-resistant epilepsies with cognitive and behavioral impairments, carrying a lifelong perspective of disability and reduced quality of life. Despite a major medical and socio-economic burden, rationale therapeutic strategies are still under debate. Surgical removal of the epileptogenic brain area (Epileptogenic Zone) is the most successful treatment, yet it fails to control FCD-associated seizures in as much as 40% of cases. Precise definition and complete resection of the Epileptogenic Zone are the main determinants of outcome. In current practice of French centers, up to 80% FCD-patients require an intracranial EEG (icEEG) recording to accurately define the epileptogenic zone. However, the indications for icEEG in MRI-visible FCD remain empirical and are essentially based on expert opinion.

Risk Factors for Concurrent Endometrial Carcinoma in Patients With a Curettage Diagnosis of Endometrial...

Endometrial Carcinoma

Objective: To examine the risk factors for coexisting endometrial carcinoma in patients with endometrial hyperplasia. Method: Seventy-seven patients who received hysterectomy for endometrial hyperplasia were enrolled and divided into the non-endometrial carcinoma group (57) and the endometrial carcinoma group (20) depending on the final pathology. Clinical variables were analyzed.

Comparative Study of microRNA Changes in Patients With Reactive Lymphoid Hyperplasia and Malignant...

LymphomaHyperplasia Lymphoid Reactive

The objectives are to: validate a panel of tissue-specific miRNAs that are differentially expressed in the tissue of patients with and without reactive hyperplasia and lymphoma. investigate the physiological range of the miRNA panel in lymphoma and reactive hyperplasia subjects. investigate the dysregulation of miRNA panel and their prognostic and predictive values in clinical outcomes to identifying patients with malignant lymphoma or reactive hyperplasia. This trial involves tissue samples diagnosed as lymphoma and reactive hyperplasia. The investigators will develop panels of miRNAs that are specific biomarkers of lymphoma, and assist clinical outcomes with these miRNAs.

Study Into Treatment of Hyperplasia of Mammary Glands

Hyperplasia

Hyperplasia of Mammary Glands is a complex disease, and there is no consensus or guideline for the treatment of this disease. This study was launched to investigate into the problem that which patients should be diagnosed as hyperplasia of mammary glands and which patients should be treated.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) Mobile Application Pilot Study

Prostatic HyperplasiaLower Urinary Tract Symptoms

This study assesses the feasibility, and acceptability of a (mobile) application for men presenting at their physician's office with LUTS/BPH; starting with medical therapy and naïve for treatment. Patients will be enrolled in the study by their physician (GP or urologist). The patients will receive a daily medication reminder including frequent feedback on medication adherence. Furthermore, standard questionnaires will be filled out via the application. The hypothesis of this pilot study is that application is feasible and accepted in this group of patients.

Parathyroid Hyperplasia in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease.

Chronic Kidney Diseases

Secondary hyperparathyroidism is an important complication in patient with chronic kidney disease . It is associated with bone complication and an increase in cardiovascular mortality The parathyroid hormone rises in these patients as consequence of low concentration of vitamin D3 ,reduction in quantities of serum calcium, phosphorus retention and reduction of vitamin D receptors sensitive to calcium.

Dynamic Hormone Diagnostics in Endocrine Disease

Adrenal InsufficiencyCongenital Adrenal Hyperplasia4 more

The study will investigate 27 hour profiles of hormones in the subcutaneous tissue of healthy subjects and patients with Addison's, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, Growth Hormone Deficiency, acromegaly, Cushings and Primary Hyperaldosteronism during conventional diagnostic and therapeutic follow-up. The 27 hour monitoring by ULTRADIAN takes into account the rhythm of hormones throughout the day. It is hoped that this information may in the future improve and simplify diagnostic procedures. Follow-up of patients in endocrinology still remains difficult including clinical signs of over and under-treatment, questionnaires of quality of life and blood testing necessitating often retesting. Simplification of the diagnostic procedure by obtaining detailed knowledge about the rhythm of hormones may contribute to the improvement and individualization of treatment and may decrease morbidity and mortality of endocrine patients.
