Ovarian Cancer Treatment Platinum-sensitive Relapse - Cohort Study (PROSPECTYON)
Ovarian CancerThe French cooperative group GINECO proposes to implement an observational study to describe a real situation, in daily practice tolerance and methods of administration of trabectedin (Yondelis®)-Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin(Caelyx)®, in ovarian platinum sensitive cancer relapse.
Diet, Insulin Sensitivity And the Brain
ObesityDiabetes Mellitus Type 2Obesity and insulin resistance may be in part explained by an altered reward system with changes in the serotonin/dopamine system. These changes might be caused by changes in dietary habits, especially by an increased intake of liquid sugar and an increase in meal frequency. The investigators hypothesize that increasing meal frequency compared to increasing meal size and when consuming a hypercaloric high-sugar diet (HS) compared to a hypercaloric high-fat-high-sugar diet (HFHS) will result in a reduction in cerebral serotonin and dopamine transporters and in a more prominent increase in insulin resistance. In addition, the investigators hypothesize that the changes in insulin sensitivity will be independent of changes in abdominal (visceral) and liver fat and that changes in insulin sensitivity due to the dietary manipulation will co-occur with changes in insulin signaling pathways in peripheral fat and muscle tissue.
Effects of Different Dietary Regimens on Tolerance Acquisition in Children With Cow's Milk Allergy...
Cow's Milk AllergyOtherwise healthy infants (1-12 months of age at the diagnosis) with CMA were prospectively evaluated. Patients with cow's milk protein-induced anaphylaxis, eosinophilic disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, and food protein induced enterocolitic syndrome were excluded. A food challenge was performed 6 and 12 months after the diagnosis to assess clinical tolerance acquisition. Main demographic and clinical characteristics were collected for each patient.
Prevalence of Food Allergies in a Cohort of Adult Patients With Eosinophilic Esophagitis
Eosinophilic EsophagitisFood AllergiesEosinophilic esophagitis is characterized by an eosinophilic infiltration of the esophagus. It presents clinically with a variety of symptoms including dysphagia, emesis, and food impaction. Although the underlying mechanism is different, gastroesophageal reflux can present with similar clinical findings but can be distinguished from eosinophilic esophagitis by the number of eosinophils present on esophageal biopsy. In children, food allergies play a role in exacerbating eosinophilic esophagitis, but the role of food allergies in adults is uncertain. In this study, we aim to determine the prevalence of food allergies in a cohort of adults with eosinophilic esophagitis.
Study Comparing Tumor Debulking Surgery Versus Chemotherapy Alone in Recurrent Platinum-Sensitive...
Fallopian Tube CancerOvarian Cancer1 moreIt is still not clear whether a positive AGO-score just selects patients with less aggressive biologic tumor behavior who as well would have had a positive outcome by chemotherapy only, or , if it is a score selecting patients who really benefit from surgery. Nevertheless, the AGO-score was confirmed to select patients with a less than 30% risk of ending with residual tumor after surgery for recurrent disease. This could avoid including patients into the present surgical protocol who could not benefit from an operationThe goal of this third DESKTOP study is to evaluate in a prospectively randomized multicentre setting, whether maximum effort of cytoreductive surgery followed by platinum based combination chemotherapy can improve overall survival as compared to platinum based combination chemotherapy alone in AGO-score positive patients.
ToleroMune Ragweed Follow up Study
Ragweed AllergyRhinoconjunctivitisRagweed is the primary cause of autumn allergies. The ragweed season begins in mid-August. In the third National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys54.3% of the population had positive test responses to one or more allergens, with the prevalence for short ragweed being 26.2% The purpose of this observational follow-on study is to further evaluate rhinoconjunctivitis symptoms on exposure to ragweed allergen in the EEC among subjects who completed all dosing visits and the post treatment challenge (PTC) visit in study TR002 approximately one year after the start of treatment.
Aqualase Versus Torsional ip. A Study on Endothelial Cells, Corneal Edema and Corneal Sensitivity...
CataractObjective of this study is the comparative assessment of the impact of torsional and liquefaction technologies on endothelial cells (ECC), corneal edema (CCT) and corneal sensitivity (CCS) in a sample of cataract patients. Participants were recruited from the Cataract Service of the UHA in a consecutive-if-eligible basis. Eligibility criteria included diagnosis of senile cataract with stage 2 nuclear opalescence according to the Lens Opacities Classification System III (LOCS-3) grading scale [10]. By means of a custom computer randomization program all participants randomly populated two study groups according to the cataract-extraction technology used: a) Torsional group (TG) and b) Liquefaction group (LG).
Safety of Nasal Influenza Immunisation in Egg Allergic Children
Egg HypersensitivityEgg allergy is common in early childhood, affecting at least one in 50 preschool children. Influenza ("'flu") vaccines contain egg protein, as the vaccine is cultured in hen's eggs. There is robust data to support the safety of influenza vaccines (containing low or negligible amounts of egg protein) in patients with egg allergy. A new influenza vaccine, known as LAIV (Live Attenuated Intranasal Vaccine) has recently been approved by a number of licensing boards and is given by a spray into the nose. This new vaccine has been available in the United States for several years and is highly effective and against influenza infection, with an excellent safety profile in children without egg allergy. However, LAIV is also grown in hen's eggs and contains egg protein, and there are NO existing data on the safety of LAIV in egg-allergic children. The objective of this multicentre study is to assess the safety of intranasal LAIV in egg-allergic children, in order to demonstrate that these children can safely be given the new LAIV within a primary care health environment.
Tolerance of Two Forms of Vitamin C in Acid-sensitive Adults
ToleranceThe purpose of this study is to compare the tolerance of two forms of vitamin C in adults with sensitivity to acidic foods.
The Utility of Food-Specific IgE Measured With the IMMULITE 2000 Assay to Predict Symptomatic Food...
Peanut AllergyMilk Allergy1 moreFood allergy is on the rise within the pediatric population. Having food allergy can cause medical, nutritional and psychological issues in those who suffer with it. Although making the appropriate diagnosis of food allergy is very important, properly diagnosing food allergy has been a challenge. Skin prick testing and food-specific IgE testing of the blood can give positive results that are false. Currently, Oral Food Challenges are the best way to diagnose a food allergy. Unfortunately, Oral Food Challenges are time consuming and may not be readily available to suspected food allergy sufferers. This study is designed to examine the effectiveness of an allergy-detecting blood test called IMMULITE 2000 manufactured by the study sponsor, Siemens.
