Pain Sensitivity Questionnaire and Postoperative Opioid Requirement

Postoperative Pain

This study aims to investigate the potential association between pain sensitivity questionnaire score, the severity of postoperative pain, and postoperative analgesic requirement in patients with open colorectal cancer surgery. This information may be used to guide the optimal postoperative pain management, and ultimately improve patient's quality of life.

JZP458 - Recombinant Erwinia Asparaginase for Treatment of ALL / LBL Patients With Hypersensitivity...

Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaLymphoblastic Lymphoma

This study is an Expanded Access Protocol (EAP) of JZP458 in participants with ALL/LBL who are hypersensitive to an E.coli-derived asparaginase (allergic reaction or silent inactivation) and unable to access alternative licensed treatment, to receive JZP458 treatment prior to potential Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval and commercial availability.

Survey Based Discrete Choice Experiment Study in Prostate Cancer (DECIDER) Study

Prostate CancerMetastatic Hormone-sensitive Prostate Cancer

The purpose of this study is to quantify and publish participants' relative preferences for outcomes of chemotherapy and novel oral hormonal agents when added to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for participants with locally-advanced and metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). This study will also quantify the importance of administration factors related to convenience relative to treatment outcomes.

Influence of Persistent Food Allergy on Nutritional Status of Children With Food Allergy

Food Allergy

The goal of this single center retrospective cohort study with observational longitudinal follow up is to compare food - allergic children (egg, milk and peanut allergy) with children in control group (children without any food allergy). The main question[s] it aims to answer are: If children with food allergy groups will have lower food intake od micronutrients? If growth in children with food allergy is worse as in control group? If they are more malnourished and in the food allergies group is more stunting than in the control group? If children with milk allergy have lower intake of calcium in their diet and lower mineral bone density? Participants will be asked to do 3 day food diary and to have blood analysed (hemograme, complete blood count, serum iron status, serum protein). If there is a comparison group: Researchers will compare milk, egg and peanut allergy group to the control group (peers without food allergy) to see if the food allergy affects growth, macronutrient, micronutrient intake.

Malnutrition In Non-Celiac Wheat Sensitivity Patients

Non-Celiac Wheat Sensitivity

Non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS) or 'wheat sensitivity' (NCWS) is included in the spectrum of gluten-related disorders. No data are available on the prevalence of low bone mass density (BMD) in NCWS. Our study aims to evaluate the prevalence of malnutrition in NCWS patients and search for correlations with other clinical characteristics. This prospective observation study will include 90 NCWS patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)-like symptoms, 90 IBS and 90 celiac controls. Patients will be recruited at the Internal Medicine and at the Gastroenterology Units of the University of Palermo. Elimination diet and double-blind placebo controlled (DBPC) wheat challenge proved the NCWS diagnosis. All subjects underwent nutritional parameters measurement, duodenal histology, Human Leucocyte Antigen (HLA) DQ typing and body mass index (BMI) evaluation.

Cross Correlation of Pain Hypersensitivity and Clinical Features and Electromyography in Low Back...

Low Back Pain

Diagnostic and prognostic value of pain hypersensitivity in low back pain (LBP) is not fully understood.Increased pain sensitivity in the primary area of pain (local pain) is considered a sign of predominantly peripheral pain sensitization, value of pain hypersensitivity in low back pain (LBP)is not fully understood whereas pain sensitivity in distal and remote areas is considered to present a more central phenomenon. It is suggested that pat ents with enhanced pain sensitivity report high level of disability. Despite fact that pain and disability are associated in chronic LBP the exact mechanisms of sensitivity contribution in LBP disability is unknown. It has also been suggested that muscle function changes may be driven by pain. The possible role and contribution of trunk muscles function to pain and disability phenomena remain unknown. This study was aimed to estimate prevalence and possible correlation among pain hypersensitivity and functional and electromyography parameters of trunk muscles in patients reporting early phase of chronic LBP.

The Diagnosis of Beta-lactam Hypersensitivity in Thailand

Penicillin AllergyAminopenicillin Allergy1 more

The true prevalence of drug allergy in patients with a history of beta-lactam hypersensitivity will be determined by using commercially available standard skin test reagents and the diagnostic agents available in Thailand. We hypothesize that only minority of patients with such a history are truly allergic.

Assessing the Value of a Dosage of Anti-cetuximab in the Therapeutic Management of Patients With...

Colon CancerHead and Neck Cancer1 more

The main objective of this study is to validate the utility of IgE anti-cetuximab in the treatment strategy to identify patients at risk for a severe allergic reaction to cetuximab (grade 3 or 4 of the classification of NCI) and thus reduce the incidence of severe reactions.
