Open-label Trial on the Effect of I.V. Zoledronic Acid 4 mg on Bone Density in Hormone Sensitive...
Prostate CancerThe purpose of this trial with Zometa is to investigate the effect ZOMETA 4 mg (zoledronic acid for injection in 100mg solution ) has in preventing associated bone loss in prostate cancer patients with bone metastasis when administered in conjunction with hormonal cancer therapy. This trial will seek to determine the effect of ZOMETA in stabilizing and increasing bone mineral density in these patients. This prospective, open-label, single arm, multicenter study will enroll approximately 200 prostate cancer patients with a history of at least one documented bone lesion documented by bone scan or radiograph. Patients must already be receiving hormone therapy and meet the following additional criteria: 18 years of age or older Histologically confirmed diagnoses of prostate cancer Confirmed objective evidence of metastatic bone disease as evidenced by bone scan or radiograph Received or will receive hormonal treatment also know as androgen deprivation therapy with an LHRH agonist or other hormonal treatments Throughout the course of this 12-month trial, patients will be identified based on the duration of established hormonal treatment at the time of enrollment. Each patients duration of participation will be up to 56 weeks including a 4 week screening, 48 week treatment and a 4 week follow up.
Different Doses of Tyrosine Adsorbed Grass Pollen Allergoid With Monophosphoryl Lipid A (MPL) in...
Type I HypersensitivityAllergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT), the administration of gradually increasing quantities of an allergen extract to an allergic patient, is a curative approach which directly treats the underlying allergic disease. GrassMATAMPL has been developed to provide pre-seasonal specific immunotherapy for patients with an allergy to grass pollen (hay fever). The purpose of this double-blind Phase IIb study is to assess the tolerability and immunogenicity of different doses of GrassMATAMPL in volunteers allergic to grasses and rye pollen.

FluorosisDental2 moreThe present study was designed as a randomised controlled clinical trial which was unicenter, double-blinded, parallel designed study, according to the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) criteria, 2010. The study period was from July 2014 to September 2015.
Clinical Study of the Whitening Dentifrices on Tooth Color and Sensitivity
Dentin HypersensitivityObjective:The aim of this clinical study was to evaluate tooth color alteration (ΔE) and tooth sensitivity (TS) in patients that used two commercial brand-whitening dentifrices for four weeks. Sixty participants were selected in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria and randomly allocated in three groups (n=20): G1-Colgate Luminous White®, G2- Close up White Now® and G3- Sorriso® dentifrice (placebo). Then, participants received the instructions to use only the blinded supplied dentifrice and toothbrush to make the habitual oral hygiene, three times per day during four weeks. Evaluators assessed tooth color (CIEL*a*b system) and TS (VAS scale) at baseline and every week (assessment points 1, 2, 3 and 4). Two-way ANOVA and posterior Tukey and Friedman test analyzed data (α = 0.05).
Effects of Desensitizing Dentifrices on the Reduction of Pain Sensitivity Caused by In-office Dental...
Tooth WhiteningSensitivityIntroduction: The pain sensitivity associated with whitening is the main problem reported by patients during dental whitening, and the use of desensitizing dentifrices is an alternative for the treatment of sensitivity. Objective: To evaluate clinically the influence of desensitizing dentifrices applied through a plastic tray, reducing the pain sensitivity and color variation caused by the technique of in-office dental whitening, through a controlled double-blind clinical study. Methods: A longitudinal prospective study was conducted with 48 individuals, 18 years and 30 years of age, without gender distinction, who underwent in-office dental whitening using 35% hydrogen peroxide (Whiteness HP, FGM, Joinville , SC, Brazil) in three clinical sessions with a one-week interval between them. The volunteers used in the night for each bleaching session a plastic tray for 4 hours containing one of the dentifrices related to the experimental groups: Group 1 (Control) - Sucralose (S) (Biotype - Manipulation pharmacy); Group 2 (Active control) - Sodium fluoride (FS) with 1450ppm of fluorine (Close up triple, Unilever); Group 3 - Arginine, calcium carbonate (ACC) and sodium monofluorophosphate with 1450 ppm fluorine (Colgate sensitive pro-relief, Colgate-Palmolive); Group 4 - 5% potassium nitrate (NP) and sodium fluoride with 1450 ppm fluorine (Sensodyne pro-enamel, GlaxoSmithKline). The evaluation of the sensitivity associated with the times of use of the plastic tray in the first session (S1: sensitivity before the tray, S2: sensitivity after the tray), in the second session (S3: sensitivity before the tray, S4: in the third session (S5: sensitivity before the tray, S6: sensitivity after the tray) used the analog numerical scale with scores from 0 to 10 and for the color evaluation the spectrophotometer (Easyshade, Vident, Brea, CA, Obtaining the data that were used in the CIELab system. The data were submitted to the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) with repeated measurements and Lambda Wilks test with a 5% probability level to differentiate the groups. In addition, the factorial variance analysis (ANOVA) in one criterion was applied. Values of p <0.05 were considered statistically significant.

Cow Milk AllergyThe aim of the study is to assess the hypoallergenicity of a new thickened extensively hydrolyzed formula.
Evaluation of Dentin Hypersensitivity Using Glass Ionomer Cements
Dentin HypersensitivityThe aim of this randomized, double-blind, split-mouth clinical trial is to evaluate and compare the desensitizing efficacies of the resin-modified glass ionomer cement ClinproTM XT (3M ESPE, Minnesota, USA) and the conventional glass ionomer cement Vidrion R (SS White, Gloucester, UK) at 2-year follow-up.
Anti-TSLP (AMG 157) Plus Antigen-Specific Immunotherapy for Induction of Tolerance in Individuals...
Cat AllergyCat HypersensitivityThis trial will test whether a novel therapeutic approach, cat immunotherapy combined with an investigational new drug called MEDI9929/AMG 157 (an anti-TSLP [thymic stromal lymphopoietin] antibody being co-developed by Amgen and MedImmune) can lead to lasting tolerance to cat allergen. The objective of the study is to determine whether one year of immunotherapy combined with MEDI9929/AMG 157 can induce tolerance to cat allergen.
Efficacy of Seventh Generation Bonding Agents as Short-Term Desensitizers Among Patients With Hypersensitivity...
Dentin HypersensitivityThe world lacks a gold standard treatment for treating dentin hypersensitivity. Fluoride varnish is most commonly used as a treatment but it causes temporary discoloration of tooth structure and may cause irritation or burning of gums when it comes in contact with gums. Seventh generation bonding agents are less technique sensitive and are easy to use. The present study aims to find out the better seventh generation bonding agent as a treatment option for sensitivity. A total of 105 patients with dentin hypersensitivity are randomized into three groups. Scaling and root debridement are performed for all the groups. This study compares two seventh generation bonding agents and taking fluoride varnish as control group.
