Sympathetic Nervous System Modulation in Hypertension
HypertensionThis is a study of patients with high blood pressure who are already treated with an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor or receptor blocker and have achieved good or fair blood pressure control. The hypothesis is that addition of the beta-adrenergic receptor blocker, sustained-release metoprolol, will provide additional blockade of the sympathetic nervous system, thereby further improving left ventricular filling and blood pressure control.

Pilot Study of the Treatment of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor(VEGF)Signaling Pathway Inhibitor-Induced...
Treatment Induced HypertensionThe purpose of this study is to describe the length of time and extent of blood pressure response to minoxidil and hydralazine among cancer patients with difficult-to-treat vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibitor treatment induced hypertension.

Assessment of Aliskiren/Amlodipine and Amlodipine on Ankle Foot Volume (AFV) in Patients With Hypertension...
HypertensionAnkle EdemaThe purpose of the present study was to evaluate the addition of aliskiren, to amlodipine can attenuate ankle edema formation in hypertensive patients.

Extracellular Fluid in Resistant Hypertension
HypertensionThe optimal treatment of drug resistant (defined as BP> 140/85 despite three anti-hypertensive drugs including a diuretic) is not well defined. This study aims to test the hypothesis that resistant hypertension is caused by excessive expansion of extracellular fluid volume. A secondary objective is to study which of three different antihypertensive drugs would be most useful in drug resistant hypertension.

Quality of Life Assessed With the PAH SYMPACT Questionnaire
Pulmonary HypertensionResearchers are evaluating quality of life in pulmonary hypertension subjects using the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension-Symptoms and Impact (PAH-SYMPACT) Questionnaire and assessing the questionnaires' performance with regard to relationship to other markers of disease severity, response to treatment, and outcome in a clinical practice setting.

Persistent Postpartum Hypertension Pilot Trial
Hypertension in PregnancyThis study is a pilot, open-label, randomized controlled trial of postpartum women with hypertensive disorders pregnancy and persistent non-severe blood pressure. The purpose of the study to provide data that may provide guidance regarding blood pressure management of patients with non-severe postpartum hypertension. There are limited guidelines for best practice with persistent, non-severe hypertension, and treatment in this situation is usually at the provider's discretion.

Food Frequency Questionnaire to Assess Sodium Intake
HypertensionRenal InsufficiencyEvalSel can precisely assess the salt intake of hospitalized patients in nephrology and cardiology or in medical consultation. It can determine salt consumption to the nearest gram. The objectives of this food frequency questionnaire are to arrive at a precise dietary diagnosis and to quickly identify the dietary errors made by the patients. EvalSel is useful for doctors to quickly obtain an assessment of the salt consumption of their patients, so they can refer them to dietitians if necessary. It can be used on the day of admission to hospital or during medical follow-ups to know the evolution of their consumption over the long term and improve their care.

A Validation Study of Selfie Technology for Assessment of Vital Signs
HealthyHypertensionThe aim of this study is to compare accuracy of DocMe, a video technology developed by DocMe Health Technologies, with previously validated medical devices used for measurements of heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate and blood pressure in adults.

Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn
Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the NewbornThe AC-052-391-study is a phase 3 study to investigate whether adding bosentan to inhaled nitric oxide in newborns with persistent pulmonary hypertension of newborns (PPHN) is a supporting and safe therapy and to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of bosentan and its metabolites.

Renal Denervation in Refractory Hypertension
HypertensionResistant to Conventional TherapyOpen, multicenter, randomized study is enrolling patients in 3 sites in Czech Republic. Patients with refractory hypertension will be randomized in 1:1 manner either to renal denervation plus optimal medical antihypertensive treatment without spironolactone or to antihypertensive treatment alone including spironolactone if not contraindicated. The primary end-point is change in Systolic and Diastolic Blood Pressure (BP) between baseline and 1 year after randomization evaluated by 24-hours BP monitoring. Expected enrollment is 120 patients. Patients follow-up is planned for 3 years.
