MediBeat - HeartBeat Observation Trial

Low Blood PressureBlood Pressure3 more

The goal of the study was to compare the current gold standard blood pressure instrument (a mercury-filled sphygmomanometer with cuff and stethoscope) with the new experimental algorithm developed by HeartBeat Technologies Ltd. To that end, participants were recruited from Markham, Ontario and participated in a series of alternating blood pressure measurements over a period of 45 minutes. Comparisons were made between manual measurements and device measurements to determine the quality of the device readings. Measurements were taken by trained nurses and staff were consistent across the study duration.

Evaluation of Pulmonary Perfusion Heterogeneity and Compliance in Patients With Pulmonary Hypertension...

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension

The purpose of the study is to find out how the blood flow changes in the lungs of people with pulmonary hypertension compared to healthy individuals without pulmonary hypertension. We would like to find out if there are differences in how blood flows when subjects are given a drug to dilate (widen) the arteries in their lungs and when they breathe extra oxygen. We will compare the results to when subjects don't receive any drug or extra oxygen. We hope that knowing about these differences will help us to better understand pulmonary hypertension and how to diagnose it earlier.

Registry for Ambulant Therapy With RAS-Inhibitors in Hypertension-patients in Germany

Arterial Hypertension

In Germany nearly half of the population present elevated values of blood pressure, with - as a result of lifestyle factors and a growing average age - further increasing numbers. Consequences of arterial hypertension may be cardiovascular diseases, cerebrovascular events, and renal insufficiency. Thus, hypertension therapy focuses on the reduction of these complications. The aims of the 3A-registry are the characterization of outpatients with hypertension, their diagnostic procedures and medical treatment (esp. with renin inhibitors), therapy compliance and success, clinical events, and an assessment of overall guideline adherence in the treatment of these patients. Patients fulfilling the relevant criteria are enrolled and followed up by their general practitioner or medical specialist.
