Effects of Swallowing Exercises on Patients Undergoing Radiation Treatment for Head and Neck Cancer...
Head and Neck CancerStage I Hypopharyngeal Cancer11 moreRATIONALE: Swallowing exercise therapy may improve the quality of life of head and neck cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying early onset of swallowing exercise therapy to see how well it works compared to late onset of swallowing exercise therapy in treating patients with head and neck cancer undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
18F-FPPRGD2 PET/CT or PET/MRI in Predicting Early Response in Patients With Cancer Receiving Anti-Angiogenesis...
Adult Giant Cell GlioblastomaAdult Glioblastoma43 moreThe purpose of the study is to conduct research of a new PET radiopharmaceutical in cancer patients. The uptake of the novel radiopharmaceutical 18F-FPPRGD2 will be assessed in study participants with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), gynecological cancers, and renal cell carcinoma (RCC) who are receiving antiangiogenesis treatment.
Phase 1b Food Based Modulation of Biomarkers in Human Tissues at High-Risk for Oral Cancer.
Metastatic Squamous Neck Cancer With Occult Primary Squamous Cell CarcinomaSalivary Gland Squamous Cell Carcinoma56 moreThis randomized phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best way to give lyophilized black raspberries in preventing oral cancer in high-risk patients previously diagnosed with stage I-IV or in situ head and neck cancer. Chemoprevention is the use of certain drugs to keep cancer from forming. The use of lyophilized black raspberries may prevent oral cancer. Studying samples of oral cavity scrapings, blood, urine, and saliva in the laboratory from patients receiving lyophilized black raspberries may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and the effect of lyophilized back raspberries on biomarkers.
The Voice as a Tool to Detect Recurrence of Laryngeal and Hypopharyngeal Cancer
Laryngeal CancerHypopharyngeal CancerThe investigators will obtain three-monthly voice recordings and fiberendoscopic examinations of the larynx/hypopharynx for a minimal period of 6 months from all laryngeal/hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC/HPSCC) patients, who have successfully completed curative primary treatment, except those who underwent total laryngectomy. Furthermore, the investigators will ask the patients to fill out the voice handicap index-30 questionnaire (VHI-30) during each study visit. The VHI-30 allows to make a subjective assessment of the patients' own vocal problem. The primary objective is to assess the feasibility and compliance of longterm regular voice monitoring in LSCC and HPSCC follow-up.
Induction Chemotherapy Combined With Camrelizumab in Locoregionally Advanced Hypopharyngeal Cancer...
Hypopharyngeal CancerImmunotherapy1 moreThe study is a single center phase II trial. The purpose is to investigate both the efficacy and safety of chemotherapy combined with anti-PD-1 antibody Followed by chemoradiotherapy in locoregionally advanced hypopharyngeal cancer.
Toripalimab in Combination With Chemotherapy as Induced Chemotherapy for Localized Hypopharyngeal...
Hypopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma60% of hypopharyngeal cancers were locally advanced at the time of diagnosis. The standard treatment was surgery and postoperative radiotherapy. Compared with traditional surgery and postoperative radiotherapy, induction chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy has a better laryngeal retention rate without reducing the curative effect, and established an organ function preservation treatment strategy. Induction chemotherapy can reduce tumor burden and reduce distant metastases. At present, induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy has become the standard treatment for the laryngeal preservation in locally advanced hypopharyngeal and laryngeal cancer. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of a PD-1 inhibitor toripalimab combined with chemotherapy as induction therapy in hypopharyngeal cancer.
Concordance of Two Endoscopic Procedures for Diagnosis of Carcinoma of the Upper Aerodigestive Tract...
Upper Aerodigestive Tract LesionsNeoplasms10 moreThis study will compare TNFE-NBI and biopsy, with DRE and biopsy for the diagnostic evaluation and staging of patients with suspicious UADT lesions. All patients enrolled in the study will undergo TNFE-NBI with biopsy of suspicious lesions prior to planned regular clinical care (DRE). Biopsies will be evaluated by standard clinical methods for patient diagnoses and care. As the current standard of care, if all biopsies for a given patient are non-malignant, a 3 month office visit will be arranged to evaluate and determine the need for further intervention. At the end of study enrollment both sets of biopsies will be re-evaluated in a blinded fashion by the surgical pathologist. Study assessment of malignant vs. non-malignant (benign) pathology will be used to see whether both tests tended to agree on diagnoses.
Assessing the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System for Surgery of the Upper Aerodigestive Tract
Hypopharyngeal NeoplasmsLaryngeal Neoplasms1 moreTo assess the use of the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System (Intuitive Surgical, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA) in transoral surgeries in patients with benign and malignant lesions of the oral cavity and laryngopharynx.
Safety and Efficacy Study of Nimotuzumab Plus Neoadjuvant and Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy to Treat...
Oropharyngeal CancerHypopharyngeal CancerThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficiency and safety of adding nimotuzumab to neoadjuvant and concurrent chemoradiotherapy in the treatment of patients with locoregionally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the oropharynx and hypopharynx.
New Strategy of Improving Treatment Outcome and Larynx-preservation Rate in Locally Advanced Hypopharyngeal...
Hypopharyngeal CancerTo develope stratification treatment for the patients who have locally advanced hypopharyngeal carcinoma. Experimental group patients were treated individually according to the response status after induction chemotherapy, receiving chemoradiotherapy or surgery. Thus to achieve a better survival rate and a higher larynx-preservation rate as well as a lower treatment related toxicity rate compared with standard treatment.
