Analyzing the Relationship Between Speed Propofol is Given and Low Blood Pressure

Hypotension on Induction

The objective of this study is to evaluate the hemodynamic changes related to Propofol administration rate. We hypothesize that slow administration of IV propofol will have less hemodynamic disturbances and will require less amount of vasoactive medication for BP correction when compared to standard FDA approved administration rate.

6% Hydroxyethyl Starch (130/0.4) Coload for Postspinal Anesthesia Hypotension

Adverse Effect

The purpose of this study is to investigate the ED50 and ED90 for an effective 6% Hydroxyethyl starch (130/0.4) coload infusion dose for postspinal anesthesia hypotension in patients undergoing cesarean section.

Vasopressor Impact on Brain Circulation, Organ Blood Flow and Tissue Oxygenation During Anesthesia...

Hypotension

The optimal vasopressor for ensuring organ blood flow and tissue oxygen delivery during surgery remains undetermined. This study aim to compare the effects of noradrenaline vs. phenylephrine infusion on blood flow and oxygen delivery to the brain and various other organs in anesthetized neurosurgical patients.

Effect of Acupoint Electrical Stimulation on Incidence of Hypotension After Spinal Anesthesia

Anesthesia

This study is intended to include elderly patients who are selected to undergo lower limb and pelvic orthopedic surgery under spinal anesthesia. Through prospective, randomized and controlled clinical trials, the investigators will observe the effect of this treatment on the incidence of hypotension in elderly patients after spinal anesthesia through TEAS points Neiguan and Quchi before or during surgery, and further explore its related mechanisms.

Preoperative Point of Care Ultrasound Guided Fluid Optimization and Intravenous Ondansetron to Prevent...

Intra-operative Hypotension

Hypotension is a common side-effect of general anesthesia induction and is related to adverse outcomes including significantly increasing risk of one-year mortality. Even short durations of intraoperative hypotension have been associated with acute kidney injury (AKI) and myocardial injury.Half of all the patients were fluid-responsive, pointing to volume status as a significant risk factor. Ultrasound measurements of inferior vena cava (IVC) diameter with respiration, including the maximal diameter of the IVC (dIVCmax) at the end of expiration during spontaneous respiration and the collapsibility index (CI), have been recommended as rapid and noninvasive methods for estimating volume status. In attempt to prevent hypotension after spinal anesthesia induction, Ondansetron, a serotonin receptor antagonist, has been used effectively . Research Question Can preoperative IVC-US guided fluid optimization and intravenous ondansetron reduce the incidence of general anesthesia-induced hypotension in adult patients undergoing elective non-cardiac non-obstetric surgery?

Cognitive Changes in Mild Cognitive Impairment

Healthy Controls Without Orthostatic Hypotension

Background: In recent years, the changes of cognitive function in mild cognitive impairment have attracted attention. Methods/design: We will follow up at 3. The primary outcome will be the measurement of cognitive function using neuropsychological assessment scales such as MOCA, MMSE, etc... Minor variables will be included plasma biomarkers (Aβ, Tau, GFAP, etc.), multimodal brain electrophysiology (P300, VP300, heart rate variability, etc.), and neuroimaging indicators (NODDI).

Hypotension Prediction During Cardiac Surgery Postoperative Period

Postoperative Hypotension

The goal of this observational study is to learn about the performance of a new index for hypotension prediction during the immediate postoperative period of cardiac surgery patients in the intensive care unit. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is this new index, Hypotension Prediction Index, able to predict hypotension during the immediate postoperative period in cardiac surgery patients in the intensive care unit? How frequent hypotension is during the immediate postoperative period of cardiac surgery patients in the intensive care unit? Participants will not receive any treatment beyond the usual clinical practice during the study. All patients will have an invasive arterial line that is part of the usual clinical practice. This arterial line is connected to a pressure transducer for continuous measurement of arterial pressure. A transducer equipped with the necessary technology to calculate the hypotension prediction index will be used instead of the usual transducer. An echocardiogram will be performed in every patient in the study. This test is done frequently in patients after a cardiac surgery.

Measurement of Whole Blood Lactate Concentrations Whole blood lactate concentrations will be measured at the time of study enrollment and at 24, 48, and 72 hours. Measurement of Plasma Renin Concentrations Serum renin concentration will be measured on blood samples drawn from arterial catheters on supine position right after inclusion. Discarded whole blood samples (waste blood samples) in EDTA tubes are prospectively collected from each patient at the time of study enrollment and at 24, 48, and 72 hours.

Maternal Care Bundle to Attenuate Hypotension in Cesarean Section

HypotensionCesarean Section Complications

Cesarean Section (CS) is a common obstetric surgery that can be performed by both general or regional anaesthetic techniques. Hypotension is the most common complication of spinal anaesthesia, its incidence varying from 70% to 80 %, if severe, it can result in serious perinatal adverse outcomes, such as maternal nausea and vomiting, fetal acidosis and may be an important contributory factor for maternal death related to regional anaesthesia.
