The Prevalence of Sub Clinical Hypothyroidism During Early Pregnancy in Pakistan
Subclinical HypothyroidismThe Precious study is likely to help determine the frequency (percentage) of subclinical hypothyroidism among pregnant women in Pakistan It will also help to determine the risk factors for developing subclinical hypothyroidism during pregnancy
Iodinated Contrast Agents and Risk of Hypothyroidism in Young Children in the United States
HypothyroidismThis study will estimate the incidence of hypothyroidism in a pediatric population of children under age 4, based on data from the US-based Kaiser Permanente Northern California database, which were exposed to iodinated contrast agent through having a diagnostic procedure.
Observational Study on Hypothyroidism in Young Children Following Iodine Contrast Exposure
HypothyroidismTo investigate the incidence of detected hypothyroidism after iodinated contrast exposure in pediatric patients from birth to 3 years of age (inclusive) in a routine clinical practice setting.
TSHβX1 and D2 THR92ALA in Pregnancy
Pregnancy RelatedHypothyroidism1 moreThyroid diseases are pathologies that frequently affect pregnant women causing serious complications. This current research aims to find out whether the expression of TSHβX1 splice variant and D2 Thr92Ala polymorphism in the DIO2 gene are associated with thyroid disease in Mexican pregnant women.
Improving White Matter Integrity With Thyroid Hormone
HypothyroidismAnimal studies have shown that thyroid hormone can improve white matter integrity after damage to myelin, which insulates and protects nerves. It is currently unknown whether this type of repair can occur in humans. The purpose of the proposed study is to examine the impact of thyroid hormone on white matter integrity in humans using two complementary, state-of-the-art neuroimaging techniques: high angular diffusion imaging and multicomponent relaxometry.
The Impact of Pituitary-thyroid and Pituitary-adrenal Axes Function on COVID-19 Clinical Course....
COVID-19Low Triiodothyronine Syndrome4 moreThe main focus of the study is the assessment of hormonal function in the course of COVID-19 infection with special regard for trends predicting clinical events defined as primary endpoints of the study.
Normal Range of TSH and FT4 in Pregnancy
HypothyroidismPregnancy Related3 morePhysiological changes necessitate the use of pregnancy-specific reference ranges for thyrotrophin (TSH) and free T4 (FT4) to diagnose thyroid dysfunction during pregnancy. Although many centers use fixed upper limits for TSH of 2.5 or 3.0 mU/L, this may lead to overdiagnosis or even overtreatment. The new guidelines of the American Thyroid Association have considerably changed recommendations regarding thyroid function reference ranges in pregnancy accordingly. Any hospital or physician that is still using the 2.5 or 3.0 mU/l cut-off for TSH during pregnancy should evaluate their own lab-specific cut-offs. The investigator's objective is to establish a rational reference range of serum TSH for the diagnosis of subclinical hypothyroidism in the first, second, and third trimester of pregnant women in the Sancaktepe region in Turkey.
Bone Structure and Strength Evaluated by Extreme-CT Scan Before and After Treatment of Hyper- and...
HyperthyroidismHypothyroidismThe aim to evaluate the bone structure by Dexa-scan, extreme CT and bone markers before and one year after treatment for a thyroid functional disorder
Thyroid Disorders in Malaysia: A Nationwide Multicentre Study
HypothyroidismSubclinical Hypothyroidism6 moreThis will be a population based study looking at the prevalence of thyroid disorders in Malaysia (including hypo- and hyperthyroidism, subclinical hypo- or hyperthyroidism) and its association with different ethnicity and iodine status. The study will also look at genetic susceptibility for autoimmune thyroid disorders in the Malaysian population General hypotheses: The prevalence of thyroid disorders in Malaysia is 10% for hypothyroidism and 2% for hyperthyroidism Hypo- and hyperthyroidism is associated with iodine status in our population There are different susceptibility gene for autoimmune thyroid disorder in different ethnicity in our population
Detection of Celiac Disease in Patients With Hypothyroidism
Celiac DiseaseHypothyroidism2 moreThe study evaluates whether hypothyroid patients requiring elevated doses of levothyroxine to maintain a euthyroid state are at increased risk of having celiac disease. It also attempts to determine if there is a threshold level of levothyroxine needed to maintain a euthyroid state in patients with hypothyroidism that should prompt serologic testing for celiac disease.
