Clinical Course of Interstitial Lung Diseases: European IPF Registry and Biobank
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisIdiopathic Interstitial Pneumonia2 moreBorn out of the European Union 7th Framework Programme funded project European IPF Network (eurIPFnet), the European IPF Registry (eurIPFreg) has become Europe's leading database of longitudinal data from IPF patients, including control groups of patients with other lung diseases. The registry was initiated with the intention of creating a permanent and continuously growing record of well defined data on IPF in Europe, in order to increase the chances of finding better treatment options for this devastating disease. Clinical colleagues who would like to actively participate (both in terms of patient recruitment and data analysis) are invited to contact us (http://www.pulmonary-fibrosis.net/).
BPF Genetics of ILD Study
Lung; DiseaseInterstitial8 moreThe investigators aim to examine the genetic determinants of interstitial lung disease in a cohort of subjects with regular exposure to pigeons, a known cause of one form of interstitial lung disease known as hypersensitivity pneumonitis. In addition we will examine immunological causes for hypersensitivity pneumonitis in this group. We anticipate our work will provide insights of use to clinicians and patients with hypersensitivity pneumonitis and other interstitial lung diseases.
Dyspnea and Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
Pulmonary FibrosisLongitudinal prospective exploratory study on the evolution of dyspnea, in its sensory and affective dimensions, in patients followed for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), between inclusion and a 6-month evaluation
Korean Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Registry
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisThis is a multicenter prospective registry of IPF patients in South Korea. The Seoul National University Bundang Hospital is the coordination center for the Korean IPF Registry built by a collaboration of the Korean Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD) Study Group.
Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Serum Bank
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisLung Diseases1 moreIdiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is the most common form of chronic idiopathic diffuse interstitial lung disease (DILD) in adults. It is a fibroproliferative, irreversible disease of unknown cause, usually progressive, occurring mainly from the age of 60 and limited to the lungs. IPF is a serious disease with a median survival rate at diagnosis of 3 years. The aim of the study is to set up a biocollection of serum from patients in a context of idiopathic DILD and a possible or confirmed diagnosis of common interstitial lung disease by chest CT. Patients will be recruited at the consultations of the Rennes Rare Lung Disease Competence Centre. These will be patients in stable condition or in acute exacerbation of IPF.
Multi-elemental Imaging of Lung Tissues With LIBS (Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy)
Interstitial Lung DiseaseSarcoidosis1 moreEvaluate the feasibility of performing a multi-elemental imaging analysis of lung specimens from patients with ILDs, with an technology named LIBS (Laser Induced-Breakdown Spectroscopy)
Collection of Airway, Blood and/or Urine Specimens From Subjects for Research Studies
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)Smoking4 moreThe purpose of this study is to obtain biologic materials from the blood, airways and/or urine of normal individuals and individuals with lung disease. The normal are used to establish a set of normal ranges for various parameters. These provide control information when compared to individuals with various pulmonary diseases, and will help in understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of various lung diseases. The underlying hypothesis is that the pathologic morphological changes in the airway epithelium must be preceded by changes in the gene expression pattern of the airway epithelium and potentially in macrophages.
A Study of the Natural Progression of Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD)
Interstitial Lung DiseasesIdiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis2 moreWe propose to acquire data and blood samples on all patients being cared for by the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) program. Additionally, we will collect data and blood samples from a control group for comparator purposes. In doing so, we will be able to describe the "phenotypic" expression of these diseases.
Heart Rate Variability and Nocturnal Blood Oxygen Saturation in Patients With Idiopathic Pulmonary...
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisThe goal of this observational study is to compare the overnight heart rate variability (HRV) and nocturnal oxygen saturation (SpO2) in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The main questions it aims to answer are: (1). if there are correlations between pulmonary function test and HRV and overnight SpO2; (2). if HRV and SpO2 can predict the occurrence of acute exacerbation in patients with IPF. Participants will be asked to examine pulmonary function test (including lung volumes and six-minute walk test) and wear pulse oxygenation recorder and "LARGAN" ECG Holter" ("LARGAN HEALTH TECHNOLOGY" Sleep Apnea And Sleep Quality Examination System) during sleep.
Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Community Registry
Pulmonary FibrosisInterstitial Lung Disease2 morePulmonary fibrosis (PF) results from a diverse group of health conditions and affects the lives of patients (including those who are post lung transplant), caregivers and family members. The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Community Registry will offer an online portal where participants can self-enroll and directly contribute information about their experience with PF to be compiled into a longitudinal data set for use by researchers.
