This is the first study, that we are aware of, that will evaluate the efficacy of IgIV in patients with IgG subclass deficiency. Will provide data for further collaboration in extending study to involve other immunological centers in the United States to study patients with similar disease.

The objectives of this trial are the assessment of safety and efficacy of IgPro10 in patients with PID, and the assessment of tolerability of high infusion rates. To demonstrate safety, the number of infusions temporally associated with AEs, the rate, severity and relationship of all AEs and the vital sign changes during each infusion will be evaluated.

There is no consensus on the treatment of patients with recurrent infections and isolated immunoglobulin G (IgG)-subclass deficiency and/or selective antipolysaccharide antibody deficiency. Therefore, the Dutch Inter University Working Party will start a study in which the treatment with antibiotics is compared with intravenous immunoglobulin therapy with respect to clinical outcome measures in both children and adults with this disorder.
