Exercise, Prediabetes and Diabetes After Renal Transplantation.
Diabetes MellitusThis study is designed to evaluate the feasibility of exercise to reverse prediabetes after transplantation to prevent Posttransplantation Diabetes Mellitus (PTDM).
Conventional and Metabolomic Predictors of Prediabetes & Insulin Resistance
PreDiabetesObesity1 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the longitudinal test performance of an array of conventional biomarkers of glycemia, including Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), and novel metabolomic biomarkers for identifying progression of glucose tolerance (normal to prediabetes or prediabetes to diabetes) in an overweight and obese pediatric cohort.
Therapeutic Innovation in Type 2 DIABetes (IT-DIAB)
Pre-diabetesThe main objective of the study is to follow prospectively a cohort of patients with pre-diabetes to understand the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in switching from pre-diabetes to type 2 diabetes and to identify new biomarkers of type 2 diabetes risk in this population.
A1c FIT TEST: An Epidemiological Study Correlating Hemoglobin A1c With Results of the Air Force...
Pre-DiabetesDiabetes1 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the prevalence of pre-diabetes and diabetes among those Air Force personnel who have not passed the Air Force physical fitness test (AFPT) and to evaluate the usefulness of the AFPT as a prescreening tool for these disease processes.
Electrodiagnostic Parameters in Patients With Impaired Glucose Tolerance and Diabetes Mellitus
Impaired Glucose TolerancePeripheral Polyneuropathy1 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the distal sensory nerves of the feet, namely, the dorsal sural, medial dorsal cutaneous and medial plantar nerves, in patients with impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes mellitus type 2 and compare these parameters to those from healthy participants.

Adult patients with established acromegaly Cross-sectional part of the study: 150 patients Longitudinal part of the study: 58 patients
Seum Bile Acid Profile in Type 2 Diabetes and Association Between Bile Cid Profile and Adipokine...
Type 2 DiabetesPrediabetes2 more"The goal of this work is to critically test the hypothesis that there exists a different profile of bile acids (BAs) in patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) compared with normal controls. Through confirmation of different profile of BAs in T2DM, investigator will suggest modulation of specific bile acids as a new possible treatment target in patients with T2DM. Investigator also expect the specific BAs signature will be used to screen T2DM before hyperglycemia. In addition, investigator will evaluate the association between each BA species and serum total glucagon like peptide-1 (GLP-1) or fibroblast growth factor-19 (FGF-19) concentrations to determine if the specific BAs profile is related with total GLP-1 or FGF-19 concentration in serum. Investigatr also evaluates the correlation between each BA species and metabolic profiles and oxidative stress marker to find possible roles of each BA component in glucose metabolism.
Screening and Understanding of the Pre-diabetes: DECODIAB
Pre-diabetesThe main objective of the study is to understand the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in switching from pre-diabetes to type 2 diabetes and to identify new biomarkers of type 2 diabetes risk in the population of patients with pre-diabetes.
Effects of Pancreaticoduodenectomy on Glucose Metabolism
Diabetes MellitusGlucose IntolerancePancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) involves removing the head of pancreas, duodenum, common bile duct, gall bladder, and/or distal stomach. In general, the postoperative changes are thought to be moderately severe, and about 20% of these patients go on to develop new clinical diabetes. PD-related factors of glucose metabolism will include removal of half of the pancreatic endocrine tissue, exclusion of the proximal small intestine, postoperative weight loss (on average, ~8% of body weight), and removal of putative diabetogenic factor in resected neoplasm. However, effect of removal of duodenum on glucose metabolism after PD has never been studied. The investigators plan to examine this issue by comparing fasting plasma levels of insulin, fasting plasma glucose, C-peptide, HbA1C, HOMA-insulin resistance, GLP-1 response after a standard meal, and body mass index (BMI) of patients before and after PD.
The Long-term Effect of Tianqi Capsule Interventions to Prevent Diabetes in the REDUCES Study: a...
Impaired Glucose ToleranceType 2 Diabetes MellitusObjectives: This study is aimed to assess whether Tianqi Capsule interventions have a long-term effect on the risk of diabetes and provide evidence that early intervention by traditional Chinese medicine could delay the progression from impaired glucose tolerance to diabetes. Study contents: 1.420 participants were followed up for 8 years to assess the long-term effect of Tianqi Capsule. Phone-call followed up was applied to investigate the status of impaired glucose tolerance and orthoglycemic survivors until the end of REDUCES study. 2.To participants that determined the status of glucose metabolism, a variety of ways were used to find the evidence of diagnosis of glucose metabolic status, such as glycemia laboratory sheets from normal hospitals, medical records, the use of antidiabetic drugs or insulin injection, etc. 3. To participants that undiagnosed the status of glucose metabolism, oral glucose tolerance test, blood pressure, weight and blood biochemical analysis were performed to assess the state of glucose metabolism. 4. Questionnaires were given to all the participants to investigate their condition of treatment, diet, exercise and other lifestyle.
