Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction With Low-intensity Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy

Erectile Dysfunction Following Radiation Therapy

This study is a prospective, randomized, single-blinded, cross-over trial to investigate the efficacy of low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). We will enroll 60 subjects (International Index of Erectile Function Questionnaires, 5 ≦ IIEF-5 ≦ 21). 30 subjects receive ESWT (LM-IASO, Litemed Co., Taiwan) for 6 courses in 3 weeks (0.05mJ/mm2, 3000 pulses) and 30 subjects receive Sham therapy for 3 weeks (the machine turning on but the energy is zero). After 3 weeks, the two groups are cross over. The primary outcome is the 4th week change from baseline for IIEF-5 score. Secondary outcomes are the 8th week change from baseline for IIEF-5 score, EHS, QoL; AEs. The between-group relationships of baseline and 4-week data were evaluated by using the Student's t-test or Mann-Whitney U-test where appropriate. Multiple linear regression was carried out to test the variables associated with treatment outcome. P-values < 0.05 were considered statistically significant.

Effect of ESWT on ED in Type 2 Diabetics

Erectile DysfunctionDiabetes Mellitus1 more

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is known not only for its widespread prevalence, but also for its significant complications including cerebrovascular disease, coronary artery disease, renal failure, vision loss, and neuropathy. Of particular importance to sexual medicine, diabetes has also been strongly associated with erectile dysfunction (ED).ED is defined as the inability to obtain and/or maintain the erection firm enough to achieve a successful sexual intercourse on a regular basis. It is a more common condition in males with type 2 DM. In the field of sexual medicine numerous studies have shown that extracorporal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is safe, noninvasive, and, most importantly, an effective method for treating vascular ED

Bioabsorbable Everolimus-Eluting Stents for Internal Pudendal Artery-Related Arteriogenic Erectile...

ImpotenceArteriogenic

In this prospective, unblinded, single-arm, single-center study, investigators would like to assess the feasibility and safety of the bioabsorbable everolimus-eluting stents in patients with erectile dysfunction and concomitant internal pudendal artery stenoses. A total of 15 bioabsorbable vascular scaffolds (BVSs) are planned to be assessed and will be deployed in the internal pudendal artery, with a 1:1 ratio of both proximal and distal segments.

Comparative Effectiveness and Safety of Three Protocols Usin Li-ESWT for Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction

The patients with primary erectile dysfunction (IIEF-EF <26 points), will be randomly assigned to three shockwave treatment protocols: Protocol 1 six sessions, one per week; Protocol 2, six initial sessions, one per week, followed by monthly maintenance sessions (every 4 weeks) for five months; Protocol 3, six monthly sessions. The EHS and IIEF-EF scores will be compared as well as the possible adverse events from the therapy upon beginning and completing the treatment and at the 3-month and 6-month follow-ups. Self-esteem and quality of life will also be evaluated using the SEAR scale.

Physical Exercise for Men With Andropause

Androgen DeficiencyDepressive Symptoms5 more

The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of physical exercise through a protocol of concurrent training in the psychological, physical, hormonal and sexual aspects in middle aged men with androgen deficiency in the aging male (ADAM). The study design with randomized clinical trial, comprising men in middle age (40 to 59 years) with ADAM, should be divided into two groups: 1) Control group (CG); 2) Experimental group (EG). Information related to sociodemographic and clinical profile will be collected; Psychological aspects (depressive and anxiety symptoms - Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale ; stress - Perceived Stress Scale); Physical acpects (IMC; Percentage of body fat; Abdominal obesity - waist circumference in cm; Muscle strength - Biodex System 4 PRO isokinetic dynamometer; cardiorespiratory Fitness - Cycle-ergometer - CASE ECG Stress Testing System, General Electric Medical Systems, Milwaukee, WI); Hormonal aspects (total and free testosterone - blood collection); Sexual Aspect (Sexual satisfaction- International Index of Erectile Function); DAEM (scale of symptoms of aging). Apply a physical exercise protocol using the functional training method over a six-month period. All information will be collected before and after the intervention period. For statistical analysis, use the SPSS statistical package, version 20.0. (Kolmogorov-Smirnov or Shapiro-Wilk test) for the selection of statistical tests.

Low Intensity Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy for the Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction- 4 Arms...

Erectile Dysfunction

Low intensity shock waves(LISW) have been proven in animal studies to induce local growth of new blood vessels. The investigators hypothesized that LISW therapy could improve the symptoms of patients with erectile dysfunction resulting from a problem of blood supply who respond to oral therapy (PDE-5 inhibitors). The current study will check 4 different arm.
