Gonadal Function in Young to Middle Aged HIV-infected Men

Human Immunodeficiency VirusHypogonadism2 more

HIV infection is associated to premature decline of serum testosterone. However, prevalence and biochemical characterization of hypogonadism in HIV-infected men are still to be well defined. HIV-infection is strongly associated to erectile dysfunction in men, but preliminary data suggest that it is poorly associated with serum testosterone in this context.

Prospective Cross-sectional Evaluation of Penile Helicine Circulation in Veno-occlusive Erectile...

Erectile Dysfunction Due to Arterial Disease

Background: The aim of this study is to evaluate the usefulness of Power Doppler in order to improve the diagnostic work up of veno-occlusive erectile dysfunction patients. Materials and Methods: Two hundred and two patients affected by erectile dysfunction, mean IIEF 5 = 13.5 (12-17) for at least 6 months, were enrolled in a prospective cross-sectional study. All patients underwent Dynamic Power Doppler after intracevernous injection of vasoactive drugs. Poor responders patients subsequently underwent to cavernosometry to get a full assessment of the vascular framework.

A Study to Evaluate Intravaginal Ejaculation Time in Men With and Without Premature Ejaculation...

Erectile Dysfunction

The purpose of the study is to characterize intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (time between the start of vaginal intercourse and the start of intravaginal ejaculation) in men with and without premature ejaculation (PE) and to assess the validity of patient-reported outcomes.

The Relationship Between Serum Endocan and ADMA Levels and Penile Doppler Ultrasonography in Erectile...

Evaluation of the Relationship Between Serum Biomarkers (Endocan and ADMA) and Penile Doppler Ultrasonography Findings of Patients With Severe Erectile Dysf

The gold standard diagnosis in patients admitted to the hospital with the complaint of erectile dysfunction is penile doppler ultrasonography. This procedure is an invasive procedure and can cause various complications. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to support and define the diagnosis of erectile dysfunction with some biomarkers that can be measured in blood samples. At this point, we performed penile doppler ultrasonography, which is the gold standard test, for all patients who applied with the complaint of erectile dysfunction, and compared the results of penile doppler and serum biomarkers in the patients.

Erectile Dysfunction in Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea: Effects of CPAP Therapy

Obstructive Sleep ApneaErectile Dysfunction

Obstructive sleep apnea has been linked to erectile dysfunction. Furthermore, small studies suggest that treatment of sleep apnea by continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) may reverse erectile dysfunction in affected patients. The present study aims to investigate in a larger cohort if severe sleep apnea is independently associated with erectile dysfunction and if 6-12 months of CPAP therapy lead to an improvement of erectile dysfunction.

Effects of Tadalafil on LMR and MHR in Patients With ED

Erectile DysfunctionInflammation

The aim of the study was to investigate whether daily 5 mg tadalafil over eight weeks affects to Lymphocyte/Monocyte ratio (LMR) and Monocyte/High-Density Lipoprotein ratio (MHR) in patients with erectile dysfunction (ED). Thirty-one patients with organic ED and 31 healthy controls between July 2017 and November 2018 were included in this retrospective study. To avoid bias, the patients were randomly selected and the controls were also incorporated consecutively. The presence of ED was determined according to the International Erectile Function Index-5 (IIEF-5). The patients and the controls were evaluated in terms of IIEF-5, complete blood count, serum biochemistry, LMR, and MHR.
