Analysis of the Instestinal Microbiome of Patients With Transthyretin Amyloidosis
AmyloidosisHereditary2 moreAmyloidosis is a serious systemic disease. Cardiac involvement has a great impact on prognosis and can occur in its three main forms: acquired monoclonal light chain, hereditary transthyretinal and senile form. The physiopathogenesis basically results from the deposition of an abnormal protein (amyloid) with toxic properties to the myocyte. The scope of this study will be a hereditary transthyretinal amyloidosis (hATTR). It is known that amyloidotic cardiomyopathy due to transthyretin deposit is an underdiagnosed cause of heart failure in adults, being an important differential diagnosis of diseases that manifest with increased myocardial thickness, such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or myocardial hypertrophy that accompanies the different degrees of aortic valve stenosis. The human gut microbiota is immensely diverse. It is estimated at around 100 trillion microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi and viruses. The microbiota of each individual is unique and determined by genetic factors such as age, type of delivery, use of antibiotics and diet. Recent data point to the hypothesis that the resilience of the intestinal microbiota plays a role in the process of disease development and health restoration.

Arthrocentesis Study
Periprosthetic Joint InfectionSeptic ArthritisThe purpose of this study is to analyze pre- and intra-operative joint aspirates of native joints and joints with suspicion of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) of the hip, knee and shoulder acquired in clinical routine. Joint aspirates are then analyzed with new diagnostic methods (microcalorimetry, PCR, alpha-defensin, etc.). Diagnostic speed and accuracy of these methods is compared to standard diagnostic methods in clinical routine, such as blood cultures of joint aspirates, cell count/differential, intra-operative tissue culture and histology and sonication.

First Event of Infection by HIV-1 of Uterine Vaginal Tissue
HIV Infection of the Uterine Vaginal TissuesThis non-interventional study aims to characterize the cells infected with HIV over time in different types of vagino-uterine tissue.

Gallstones and Concomitant Gastric Helicobacter Pylori Infection
CholelithiasisIn this study, the presence of H.Pylori in the gallbladder mucosa of patients with symptomatic gallstones undergoing cholecystectomy was investigated. Concomitant H.Pylori infection of the gastric mucosa was also investigated to study the relationship of gastric H.Pylori infection to gallstones. It was hypothesized that H.Pylori infection of the gastric mucosa may have a role in the formation of gallstones.

BJI Inoplex 2 : Test for Diagnosis of Prosthetic Infections
Bone and Joint Prosthetic InfectionsA national, prospective, open-label, non-interventional, multicentre, controlled study designed to evaluate a diagnostic method in patients undergoing hip, knee or shoulder prosthetic removal regardless of whether or not infection is suspected. Serological test results will have no impact on the therapeutic approach. Study objective: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of an antibody detection kit for the serological diagnosis of bone and joint prosthetic device infections cause by Staphylococci, Streptococci, Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) and Gram-negative bacteria versus the reference method: the bacterial culture of deep intraoperative samples.

Performance Proof of the New NORMA-SENSE
Vaginal InfectionThis study was designed to validate the color appearance on the newly developed panty liner (NORMA-SENSE). The NORMA-SENSE liner changes color when worn by the user and comes into contact with vaginal secretion with an elevated pH level, without false positives due to urine remains or incontinence. The study will also asses the physical comfort in using NORMA-SENSE and the result reading clarity which includes the ability to visualize and interpret the NORMA-SENSE strip results.
