Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections

The primary objective is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Phenazopyridine HCl Tablets, USP 200 mg as a short term analgesic treatment of pain upon urination associated with Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections (uUTI). The secondary exploratory objective is to evaluate safety and efficacy of Phenazopyridine HCl Tablets, USP 200 mg as a short term analgesic treatment of burning upon urination associated with uUTI.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ABT-450/r/ABT-267 with or without ABT-333 and with or without ribavirin (RBV) in adult liver or renal transplant recipients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1 or 4 (GT1 or GT4) infection.

Sildenafil for PNTM Infection

Nontuberculous Mycobacterial Infection

Background: Pulmonary nontuberculous mycobacterial (PNTM) infection is caused by a common type of bacteria in the environment. Although PNTM infection is most common in people with lung diseases, it can also affect healthy people. It can be difficult to treat, and affects parts of the body other than the lungs. For example, PNTM may affect the cilia, the hair-like structures inside the nose and lungs that help move dirt and debris out of the body. Ciliary beat frequency (CBF) is a measurement of how fast cilia move. People with PNTM infection have a lower CBF than healthy people. Nitric oxide (NO) is a gas in the body that may affect CBF. People with PNTM infection produce lower amounts of NO in their noses than healthy people. Researchers want to see if a drug called sildenafil can increase NO production and CBF. If sildenafil can improve these measurements, it may be a useful treatment for PNTM infection. Objectives: - To study the effect of sildenafil on CBF and NO levels in people with PNTM infection. Eligibility: Individuals at least 18 years of age who have PNTM infection. Participants must be enrolled in a related National Institutes of Health study on bacterial infections. The study is Natural History, Genetics, Phenotype and Treatment of Mycobacterial Infections. Design: Participants will be screened with a physical exam and medical history. They will also have heart and lung function tests, as well as tests of NO production in the nose. They will provide samples of sputum and cells from inside the nose. Before the first study visit, participants will collect sputum samples for 24 hours. They will bring the samples to the study visit. At the first study visit, participants will have heart and lung function tests, as well as tests of NO production in the nose. They will provide blood, urine, sputum, and nasal cell samples. They will also receive sildenafil tablets to take at home. Participants will take sildenafil tablets three times a day. The second study visit will be 7 days after the first one. The tests from the first visit will be repeated. Participants will receive more sildenafil tablets to take on the same schedule as before. The third and final study visit will be 30 days after the first one. The tests from the first visit will be repeated. Participants will stop taking sildenafil at this visit. A follow-up phone call will be made about 2 weeks after the final study visit. This call will ask questions about quality of life and any symptoms or side effects of the study.

Chronic Hepatitis C Infection

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and antiviral activity of 3 direct-acting antiviral agents (DAAs; ABT-450/ritonavir/ABT-267 [ABT-450/r/ABT-267; ABT-267 also known as ombitasvir] and ABT-333 [also known as dasabuvir]) plus ribavirin (RBV) compared with telaprevir (TPV) with pegylated interferon/ribavirin (pegIFN/RBV) in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus genotype 1 (HCV GT1) infection without cirrhosis who were previously treated with pegylated interferon/ribavirin (pegIFN/RBV).

EnterocolitisRecurrent Clostridium Difficile Infection

Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) for the treatment of recurrent Clostridium difficile infection (RCDI) has traditionally been offered as fecal slurry administered by enema, nasogastric tube or endoscopy. Frozen oral capsules have also shown efficacy. The potential advantage of lyophilized FMT is the relative ease of manufacturing and storage compared with fecal slurry. Sterile fecal filtrate has previously been shown to prevent Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) recurrence, suggesting that live bacteria may not be needed. This study will compare lyophilized sterile fecal filtrate (LSFF) with lyophilized FMT (LFMT) in the treatment of recurrent Clostridium difficile infection (RCDI).

A multicenter double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel-group comparative Phase II / III clinical study to assess safety, tolerability, efficacy and optimal dose ranging of XC8 vs. placebo in patients with uncomplicated influenza or other ARVI during a 5-day treatment. The primary objective of the study was to demonstrate the difference in time before the onset of a sustained improvement in clinical symptoms according to the Severity Rating Scale for ARVI, and to determine the optimal dose of XC8 in the treatment of influenza and other ARVI.

Because of its prolonged terminal half-life, dalbavancin is an extremely attractive option in treating Gram-positive infections caused by S. aureus including MRSA, and streptococcal species. Systemic bacterial infections due to Staphylococci such as osteomyelitis and septic arthritis, are conditions which require prolonged IV therapy, typically for at least 3-6 weeks, though sometimes more. Due to dalbavancin's prolonged terminal half-life, it may offer the opportunity to substantially reduce costs and morbidity in native joint and prosthetic joint infections with one infusion every fourteen days until completion of therapy.

Respiratory Tract InfectionsHIV Infections

Single-arm, single-center, Phase I/II clinical trial, in four groups. Individuals with HIV infection taking Efavirenz (EFV) and two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTI) who have undetectable (Groups 1 and 2) or detectable (Group 3 and 4) HIV viral load and an indication for TPT, will be switched to DTG with tenofovir/emtricitabine (Groups 1 and 2) or lamivudine/tenofovir (Groups 3 and 4). Group 1 and 2 will receive weekly HP for 12 total doses starting 8 weeks after initiating DTG. Individuals who are on an existing DTG-based plus two NRTI ART regimen for at least eight weeks (and have not received efavirenz or nevirapine for at least two months) who have an undetectable HIV viral load may also participate. Individuals with HIV infection who are ART treatment naïve at any HIV viral load level and have an indication for TPT will start DTG and be enrolled to receive standard IPT (Group 3) or HP (Group 4) initiated at the same time as DTG. Group 3 and 4 will be enrolled after follow up of Group 1 and 2 has been completed.
