'SPRING'-Study: "Subfertility Guidelines: Patient Related Implementation in the Netherlands Among...

Male InfertilityFemale Infertility3 more

The purpose of this study is to compare two different strategies to implement the existing Guideline programme on Subfertility, as issued by the Dutch Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (NVOG). Therefore, an innovative patient-directed strategy will be compared to a control strategy and effectiveness, costs and feasibility of both strategies will be assessed.

Study on the Safety and Pharmacokinetics of LM001 and Gonal-F® in Healthy Women

InfertilityFemale

Brief Summary: LM001 is a recombinant human Follicle Stimulating Hormone (r-hFSH) Injection, which is proposed for Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). This is a randomized, open-label, two-period, two-crossover study to evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetics of recombinant human follicle stimulating hormone injection (LM001), compared with Gonal-F®, both given subcutaneously.

Controlled Ovarian Stimulation and Human Uterine Lavage

InfertilityFemale

This is a feasibility study intended to demonstrate the Previvo Uterine Lavage System's ability to recover embryos from the uterus following either natural cycle (NC)/intrauterine insemination (IUI), or controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH)/intrauterine insemination (IUI).

Stress and Fertility: How to Lower Stress When Trying to Conceive

AnxietyInfertility1 more

Psychological stress and its sources differ among the population and can be reduced in various ways. The practice of yoga has been shown to be an effective stress reducing agent. IVF processes have also been shown to increase stress levels, particularly in patients with multiple failed IVF cycles. Less is known about stress levels in patients undergoing elective egg freezing for fertility preservation. The investigators demonstrated in a pilot project that yoga postures with a yoga focused discussion session decreases stress in infertility patients compared to controls. The goal of this study is to further explore the capability of yoga practice to reduce stress in a specific subset of infertility patients, those with a history of at least one failed IVF cycle and those undergoing elective oocyte cryopreservation. Additionally, the investigators are aiming to understand which aspect of the intervention (discussion vs. yoga) had the most impact and whether route of administration of the intervention (in person vs online) effects results.

Single Dose Recombinant Human Follicle Stimulating Hormone Fc Husion Protein (KN015) in Healthy...

InfertilityFemale

KN015,the active substance recombinant human Follicle Stimulating Hormone(FSH) Fc fusion protein, which belongs to the pharmaceutical class gonadotropins.KN015 is proposed for Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) programs only. Its indication is Controlled Ovarian Stimulation (COS)in combination with a gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist for the development of multiple follicles in women participating in an ART program. Due to its prolonged duration of FSH activity compared to conventional recombinant FSH (rFSH), a single subcutaneous injection of the recommended dose of KN015 may replace any daily rFSH preparation in a COS treatment cycle. This study is to evaluation of the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of KN015 in healthy Chinese female subjects.

Attention to Variability During Infertility

InfertilityInfertility3 more

Infertility affects approximately one in seven couples, and it can be a devastating diagnosis and difficult experience for couples to endure. Ellen Langer, Ph.D., Director of the Langer Lab at Harvard, has spent several decades demonstrating evidence supporting a mind-body approach to improve wellbeing and overall functioning. Specifically, she asserts that Mindfulness in its most basic sense - paying attention in the moment - is enough to create both perceived (e.g., self-reported) and real (e.g., objective testing) change. Langer and her colleague, for example, demonstrated that "Trait mindfulness predicted the well-being of expecting mothers and better neonatal outcomes. Mindfulness training resulted in better health for the expecting mother". In this study, Mindfulness training refers to "attention to sensation variability." Such interventions are cost effective, minimally invasive, less time-consuming for practitioners and participants and generally easy to learn. Langer and her colleague's study refers to pregnancy. Infertility is unlike pregnancy in its exact clinical diagnosis. Nevertheless, similar to pregnancy, infertility is considered a clinical condition affecting the body, in this case the reproductive system. Therefore, based on the results of studies like Langer and her colleague's, that used participants with clinical conditions affecting the reproductive system, the investigators propose similar mindfulness intervention (attention to sensation variability) research with infertile individuals. However, the investigators intend to extend our examination to also include a treatment group with the partners of the infertile individuals, as little, if any research, has attempted to do so previously. The investigators hypothesize that state mindfulness (groups exposed to mindfulness intervention) will improve wellbeing in the infertile patient and her partner and that trait mindfulness will predict ability to become pregnant.

Melatonin Study Between Diminished and Normal Responder in IVF

InfertilityFemale

Poor sleep quality may lead to increase in oxidative stress and free radicals which in turn may decrease the reproductive function. Many researchers have already proven improvement on reproductive function after antioxidant (melatonin) administration. The investigators wish to study the relationship between unexplained, young poor ovarian responder and oxidative stress.

Caloric Intake and Ovarian Reserve

InfertilityFemale

The goal of this study is to observe the impact of caloric intake on ovarian reserve as measured by anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) levels and antral follicles (AFC) visualized on ultrasound. It has been shown that obesity negatively impacts these markers, but research is lacking regarding the influence of nutrition and caloric intake on fertility. This would give the investigators information on how diet may impact ovarian reserve in patients seeking fertility treatment.
