3mg Liraglutide for Overweight or Obesity

OverweightObesity2 more

In this study investigators will investigate the beneficial metabolic sequelae of Liraglutide in patients with obesity or overweight; including changes in vital signs, anthropometric characteristics (weight, body mass index and body composition), biochemical parameters, metabolomics and micro-ribonucleotide acid (miRNA) molecules from blood tests. Liraglutide is a commercially available analogue of a gut hormone physiologically produced in our bowel in response to food, licenced for the treatment of overweight or obesity. Liraglutide will be offered to patients attending National Health System (NHS) or private clinics within indication and according to their agreed clinical management. Investigators aim to collect real-life information for this study along with planned clinical management from patients who agree to their treatment and to take part in our study. Patients will be able to withdraw from treatment and study at any time without giving any explanation. If successful, this study will help us combine clinical, biochemical and molecular information which will allow us to gain deeper understanding on the mechanisms behind the beneficial metabolic effects of Liraglutide in overweight and obesity. Data generated from this study will hopefully help us acquire funding for a larger multicentre study; the results of which can have substantial impact on millions of people with overweight or obesity around the world.

Relationship Between Oral Health Status and Unexplained Female Infertility in Turkish Population...

Dental CariesFemale Infertility

Periodontal diseases and dental caries are initiated by a pathogenic biofilm, in a susceptible host, affecting the tooth periodontium and hard tissues. Its possible association with many biologic systems has been studied. In this study, researchers investigated association between oral health and female infertility, and what is the biological rationale for such relationship.

A Comparison of Clinical Outcomes of Warmed Embryo Vitrified at 2PN Stage and Fresh Embryo Transfers...

InfertilityFemale1 more

The aim of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes between fresh embryo and frozen embryo transfer in in vitro fertilization (IVF). All frozen embryo was vitrified at pronuclear stage (2PN) and cultured to cleavage embryos for transfer. This is a retrospective study. All IVF cycles were included in this study and further divided into fresh and frozen embryo transfer groups. The collection data including: stimulation protocols, medicines, blood test results, pregnancy test and all clinical data. The primary outcome is pregnancy rate and secondary outcome is implantation rate.

Success Rate Natural Cycles Versus Modified Natural Cycles in Frozen Embryos

InfertilityFemale

There has been a recent significant increase in the frozen embryo replacement (FER) cycles due to freeze-all cycles to decrease the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. Now a days making frozen embryo transfers (FETs) a viable alternative to fresh embryo transfer

Assessment of Blood and Follicular Fluid Immune Cell Constitution in Patients Undergoing in Vitro...

InfertilityFemale

The etiology of infertility in the majority of patients with poor response to ovarian stimulation remains unknown. This study will investigate the role of immune cells (T cells, B cells, dendritic cells and NK cells), that constitute the immune system which normally fights infection and cancer. We, the investigators, have found that specialized NK cells that help with new blood vessel formation, are found in the fluid surrounding the egg during IVF, only in patients with good response to ovarian stimulation. We now wish to expand our studies and correlate our findings to ovarian blood flow , as measured by 3D ultrasound and to the presence of other cells in the immune system.

Protein S Activity in Women With Unexplained Infertility

Unexplained Female Infertility

This study will add: Finding out an association between Protein S activity and unexplained female infertility. Aim: Study hypothesis: In women with unexplained infertility protein S activity may be low. Study question: In women with unexplained infertility does protein S activity low?. This study aims to assess the activity of protein S activity in women with unexplained infertility. Objectives: The main objective of this study is: To determine the prevalence of Protein S activity with unexplained female infertility and to compare its prevalence in fertile women among women attending outpatient clinics at Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital.

Abundance of Lactobacillus in Endometrium Affected by Chronic Endometritis

Non Specific Chronic EndometritisInfertility1 more

Infertile women undergoing hysteroscopy for diagnostic or therapeutic indication are asked to donate a sample of endometrium. Endometrial samples of study participants are examined for signs of chronic endometritis by immunohistochemical analysis. High-throughput sequencing of the microbial 16s ribosomal ribonucleic acid (rRNA) subunit is performed to identify and quantify the microbes present in the sample. Obstetric and reproductive outcome is recorded 12 months after hysteroscopy (telephone interview).

Women's Quality of Life, Sexual Life and Psychological State in Patients Undergoing Embryo Transfers...

InfertilityFemale4 more

Women's quality of life, sexual life and psychological state would affect the success of embryo transfer. The primary purpose of the study is to compare women's quality of life, sexual life and psychological state using validated forms between those undergoing fresh embryo transfer and those undergoing frozen embryo transfer.
