Improved HRV, Inflammation Markers and Endothelial Function After TAVI

Severe Aortic StenosisTAVI

Severe aortic valve stenosis is known to affect heart haemodynamics, endothelial function and body inflammation markers. Our aim is to investigate the weather transcatheter aortic valve implantation in patients with severe aortic stenosis affects heart rate variability, inflammation markers and endothelial function.

ObesityPreDiabetes8 more

This study intends to assess the role of inflammation in insulin resistant conditions (i.e., obesity and pre-diabetes) and the subsequent development of disease, such as type 2 diabetes (T2D) and cardiovascular disease (CVD), in the adolescent population.

Quantify the Value of Transmural Inflammation in the Treatment of Crohn's Disease With Ustekinumab:an...

Inflammatory Bowel DiseasesCrohn Disease1 more

Crohn's disease(CD),a type of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD), is a chronic intestinal recurrent inflammatory disease involving the entire digestive tract. And Ustekinumab, a monoclonal antibody against the p40 subunit of interleukin-12 and interleukin-23, is a newly targeted drug approved for the treatment of Crohn's disease in recent years.Based on the high-throughput imaging characteristic analysis technique, this study quantitatively analyzed the transmural inflammation of Crohn's disease, and discussed its prognostic value in the treatment of Ustekinumab, and further analyzed the increment of its relative clinical index.

Effect of Anesthesia Method on Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio

InflammationAnesthesia

The neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a simple and inexpensive marker of the inflammatory response. NLR is affected not only by surgical trauma but also by the anesthetic method. The method of anesthesia can affect NLR, thereby modulating the inflammatory response and surgical outcomes. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the relationship between blood NLR and anesthesia techniques in patients undergoing forearm surgery, and the secondary aim was to evaluate the relationship between Platelet/lymphocyte ratio (TLR), Mean Platelet Volume (MPV) and anesthesia techniques.

Effects of Tadalafil on LMR and MHR in Patients With ED

Erectile DysfunctionInflammation

The aim of the study was to investigate whether daily 5 mg tadalafil over eight weeks affects to Lymphocyte/Monocyte ratio (LMR) and Monocyte/High-Density Lipoprotein ratio (MHR) in patients with erectile dysfunction (ED). Thirty-one patients with organic ED and 31 healthy controls between July 2017 and November 2018 were included in this retrospective study. To avoid bias, the patients were randomly selected and the controls were also incorporated consecutively. The presence of ED was determined according to the International Erectile Function Index-5 (IIEF-5). The patients and the controls were evaluated in terms of IIEF-5, complete blood count, serum biochemistry, LMR, and MHR.

Airway Inflammation, Symptoms and Lung Function in COPD

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory disease with high prevalence worldwide and with relevant impact on patient-related quality of life, morbidity and mortality. There is evidence that airway inflammation correlates with the severity of the disease and that airway inflammation is further enhanced during exacerbation. However, it is unknown whether daily fluctuation of symptoms or changes in lung function is paralleled by changes in airway inflammation.

Air Pollution, Inflammation and Acute Coronary Syndrome

Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome

The objectives of this study are: 1) To determine whether patients with acute coronary syndrome, the level of environmental exposure to particulate air pollutants in the week prior to admission, are related to concentrations of inflammatory molecules and oxidative stress. 2) To investigate whether the level of environmental exposure is an independent prognostic factor in terms of overall and cardiovascular mortality, myocardial infarction or unstable angina at 30 days, 6 and 12 months.
