The purpose of the HAPI project is to study the overall health of preterm infants once they reach adulthood. The investigators would like to compare the health of adults born preterm with that of adults born full-term. They would also like to find the early signs, or biomarkers, of chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, and chronic lung diseases. Such biomarkers would allow for early diagnosis and prevention. Furthermore, the investigators would like to understand why some people born preterm are more likely to develop chronic disease. They believe that inflammation and oxidative stress may play a part. Oxidative stress is present when the body is not able to defend itself against oxygen-derived products that can damage our cells. To carry out this study, the investigators will examine 6 aspects of the health: (1) heart and circulation, (2) kidneys, (3) lungs, (4) metabolism - sugars and fats in the blood, (5) bones, and (6) eyes.

Systematic medical chart and imaging files review of patients presenting with non-lymphoma, non-thyroid-related orbital inflammation. The review aims at comparing the frequency of MRI infra-orbital nerve enlargement, between patients diagnosed with an IgG4-related ophthalmic disease (IgG4-ROD) and other patients.

An observational study designed to compare colonic cytokine concentrations in lean versus obese individuals

This is a prospective observational study which will recruit up to 100 paediatric participants over a period of 30 months to determine whether MRI is as accurate at detecting, distinguishing, and monitoring liver disease as current standard of care techniques such as liver biopsy and fibroscan.

This study consists of three separate appointments including a clinical assessment (interview and questionnaires), a blood draw, a social stress test, and a brain MRI.

The study investigates inflammatory and antiinflammatory response in patients with severe aortic valve stenosis needing either surgical treatment (surgical aortic valve replacement) or interventional cardiology treatment (transcatheter aortic valve implantation using the transfemoral access route or the transapical access route).

The investigators explore the presence of AD factors beta-amyloid and tau in CSF and plasma to verify AD diagnosis in patients with acute hip fracture. Clinical dementia test is performed prior to operation. Blood samples and CSF samples are collected at surgery and blood samples are collected postoperatively at intervals. Mortality is assessed at 30 days, 3 months and 1 year. Morbidity is assessed at , 3 months and >1 year. Neuromarkers specifically addressing the inflammatory component are to be analyzed and correlated to outcome together with AD markers, as above.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the clinical and morphological characteristics of chronic subclinical inflammation in the myocardium in patients with decompensated heart failure with ischemic systolic dysfunction.

Using an active cohort of children in whom Airway and gastrointestinal endoscopy will be performed, investigators will conduct a chart review to obtain relevant clinical data and the investigators will use an aliquot of airway sample obtained during the clinically indicated bronchoscopy for microbiome analysis. A case-control study design will be used to study whether subjects with CC with GER have a distinct lung microbiome and increased inflammation as compared with subjects with CC without GER and to determine whether the microbiome and degree of inflammation is related to the type of GER (acidic versus nonacidic).

This open-label, Phase IV prospective, observational study will evaluate patients, who have been diagnosed with Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration and have previously received either a standard intravitreal injection of ranibizumab or aflibercept, in order to get and compare information regarding post-injection inflammatory (irritation in the eye)2-3 days post-injection. Additionally, patients will be evaluated for visual acuity and pain 2-3 days post-injection.
