Endoscopic Balloon Dilation vs Surgery to Treat Short Strictures in Fibrostenosing Crohns Disease:...
Crohn DiseaseThere is currently no standard management to guide the clinicians in treating patients with fibrostenotic disease. European Crohns and Colitis Organization [ECCO] recently developed a topical review on prediction, diagnosis and management of fibrostenosing Crohns disease. The review suggests endoscopic balloon dilation, strictureplasty, and intestinal resection as reasonable treatment options for short strictures based on the low grade of evidence.

Capsule Endoscopy Crohn's Disease Activity Index - Validation Multi Center Study
Crohn's DiseaseThe Study Prospective trial of the Niv score validating score against known activity indices - see addendum A for Niv score Known Crohn's disease patients undergoing capsule endoscopy are identified - see addendum B for inclusion/exclusion criteria Prior to capsule exam, temperature is taken, height and weight measured, bloods are drawn for albumin, ESR, HCT, CRP Prior to capsule exam, symptom/exam questionnaire is completed - see addendum C for questionnaire Capsule exam is performed CD of de-identified is made at the study site. Landmarks are confirmed and the small bowel transit time is divided into 2 and labeled on thumbnails CDs are copied CDs of study patients are provided to blinded readers
Trial Evaluating the Diagnostic Usefulness of Lumentin® 44 When Used as Contrast Agent
Crohn DiseaseThe trial is a phase 2 randomised, open, non-inferiority within patient-controlled multi-centre trial. Male and female subjects with a diagnosis of Crohn´s Disease and a clinical indication for an MRE examination, who are at least 18 years of age and who provide a written informed consent, will be eligible for inclusion. The trial period will be up to 16 weeks and consists of 7 visits (see schedule of events). All patients who have attended at least 1 of the Magnetic Resonance Enterography (MRE)/Computerised Tomography Enterography (CTE) examinations should go through the end of treatment procedures at visit 7. Subjects will attend two examinations during the course of the trial: A CTE An MRE The Crohn's disease activity will be assessed radiologically on the MRE and CTE scans by identifying the presence and severity of a number of morphologic entities and dynamic signs in the SB and colon as described in the RCDAS. Additional evaluation of CD activity and disease complication on the MRE and CTE images will be performed using the CDMRIS scale and Lémann Index respectively
Stricture Definition and Treatment (STRIDENT) Drug Therapy Study
Crohn DiseaseInflammatory Bowel Diseases1 moreTwo thirds of patients with Crohn's disease require intestinal surgery at some time in their life. Intestinal strictures, that is narrowing of the bowel due to inflammation and scarring, are the most common reason for surgery. Despite the high frequency, associated disability, and cost there are no are no treatment strategies that aim to improve the outcome of this disease complication. The STRIDENT (stricture definition and treatment) studies aim to develop such strategies.

PillCam SBC System Functionality in Established and Suspected IBD Patients
Chronic Inflammatory Small Bowel DiseaseCrohn's DiseaseThis clinical study is designed to evaluate the PillCam SBC system performance in 50 established or suspected inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients by visualizing and assessing their small and large bowel.
Efficacy of Exclusive Enteral Nutrition in Adult Active Crohn's Disease
Crohn's DiseasePatients with Crohn's disease (CD) could develop complications such as stricture, intestinal fistula and abdominal abscess. Some CD patients had poor response to medical therapy. The efficacy of exclusive enteral nutrition (EEN) to these adult active CD patients is still unclear. The investigators aim to study the efficacy of EEN in induction of remission in adult active CD patients with complications or poor response to drugs.
