The research is being done to look at the benefits of a recreational and therapeutic program for people with spinal cord injury using the VSail-Access sailing simulator.

The purposes of this study were to evaluate the influence of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program in the improvement of the health-related quality of life among adult neurological patients and to identify the sociodemographic and clinical associated characteristics. Subjects with spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury and poliomyelitis survivors participated in the study. All participants underwent a rehabilitation program (RP) from January 2008 through July 2010, which consists of 40-minutes of many therapies for 1-2 days a week. The WHOQOL-BREF was applied at the initial and discharge assessments.

The proposal will assess if patients who require massive transfusion can be accurately predicted early after emergency department arrival and assess if the use of stored whole blood during initial resuscitation will reduce transfusion needs compared to transfusion with component therapy and thus improve outcome.

The investigation is designed as a prospective, open, non-controlled clinical investigation.

The proposed study will evaluate Covington's Helping Women Recover (HWR) plus Beyond Trauma (BT) curriculum with female offenders at Eddie Warrior Correctional Facility in Taft, Oklahoma. The purpose of the proposed study is to expand previous findings by including a comparison group of women that are not receiving treatment but are otherwise eligible, and by using outside evaluators to conduct the assessments. Furthermore, this study will extend the outcomes measured in previous evaluations by including measures of sleep disturbance, posttraumatic cognitions, and a more extensive assessment of trauma-related symptoms. The hypotheses for this study are listed below: Incarcerated women with substance use disorders and history of trauma enrolled in the integrated treatment program (HWR plus BT) will report significantly fewer symptoms on measures of posttraumatic stress and associated cognitions, substance use, depression, and related symptoms following treatment than those in the comparison group. Those in the treatment group will improve significantly more than those in the comparison group on the symptoms listed above.

The research is being done to find out if Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) stepping can improve the function of people with spinal cord injury that paralyzes.

The purpose of this study is to compare arthrodesis of the first TMT-joint to extraarticular bridge plate fixation of the same joint in acute Lisfranc injuries.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic benefit of utilizing complex growth factor preparations (Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in the management of acute hamstring injuries. The hypothesis is that the time to return to sport is shorter in the patient group treated with Complex Growth Factor Preparations (PRP) in combination with exercise therapy in comparison with 2 control groups: the patient group treated with Platelet Poor Plasma (PPP) injections in combination with exercise therapy (control injection AND usual care). the patient group treated with exercise therapy (usual care)

The purpose of this study is to show that the incidence of sternal wound infections at day 30 after cardiac surgery is 50% lower with the additional use of Daptomycin on top of a standard antibiotic prophylaxis as compared to the standard antibiotic prophylaxis alone.
