The Effect of Suturing Material on Scar Healing
Wound HealCesarean Section Complications2 moreWe want to compare the effects of 2 suture materials (monofilament and multifilament) on healing of the uterine scar after a cesarean delivery.
Influencing Wound Healing Through the Application of Hyaluronic Acid With Perfluorodecalin and Physalis...
Wound HealThe study will use a split wound design to investigate whether secondary wound healing can be accelerated and improved by the application of hyaluronic acid combined with perfluorodecalin and Physalis angulata extract.
Evaluation of the Effects of Platelet Rich Fibrin on the Palatal Mucosal Healing
Wound HealingPain2 moreSubepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG) has greater predictability for root coverage and causes minimal discomfort to patient. Although donor site heals with primary intention causing less scar tissue, in some different harvesting procedures primary flap closure may not be achieved due to nature of thick palatal tissues. Some potential complications may occur at donor site such as: necrosis of graft and palatal site, pain, excessive hemorrhage, protracted discomfort, donor site infection and in some cases donor site paresthesia. Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is a platelet concentrate obtained by a simple procedure that does not require biochemical blood involvement.Based on the known biological effects of PRF, the aim of this study is to evaluate the PRF in the management of soft tissue donor sites in term of bleeding and pain sensation, and to observe the changes in tissue healing after a subepithelial connective tissue graft procedure at palatal donor site.
Evaluation of Physical Functions in Lower Limb Burn Injury
BurnsBurn Scar2 moreThis study evaluates scar tissue, normal range of motion of lowr extremity joints, lower extremity functions, functional capacity, functional mobility, kinesiophobia and quality of life in lower limb burn injury.
Effect of Strength and Coordination Training on Biomechanics and Injury in New Runners
InjuriesPatellofemoral Pain Syndrome1 moreThe investigators hypothesize that new runners participating in an 8 week strength and coordination training program prior to beginning to run will 1) display different coordination patterns , and 2) experience fewer injuries, compared to new runners who do not perform strength or coordination training prior to running.
Preventing Injury in Elite Orienteerers
Lower Extremity InjuryThe aim of this study is to investigate the effect a specific exercise program on the incidence of injuries in the lower extremity. 72 elite orienteerers, aged 18-40 years, are allocated to an intervention or control group. The intervention group performs four specific exercises, four times a week (10 minutes per session) in conjunction with normal training. Injury data are collected every second week using valid injury questionnaire distributed by text messages over 14 weeks. Primary outcome is number of substantial injuries in the lower extremity. Secondary outcomes are incidence of ankle sprains and the average substantial injury prevalence across the 10 weeks.
Evaluation the Impact of Subcutaneous Irrigation on Wound Complications
Cesarean Section; ComplicationsWound1 moreto evaluate the effect of subcutaneous irrigation on wound complications
NeoPatch Used as Adjunct in Foot and Ankle Tendon Surgery
TendinopathyTendon Tear2 moreThis study is a prospective, single center, postmarket study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of NeoPatch used as a tissue cover in foot and ankle tendon revision and repair surgery.
Sport Without Injury ProgrammE Floorball
Athletic InjuriesThis study evaluates the preventive effect of a neuromuscular training program on injuries in youth floorball players. Half of participants will receive the training program, and half act as control and perform their usual training practices.
Role of Prophylactic Metoclopramide With Tramadol in Trauma Patients
TraumaOpioid Analgesic Adverse ReactionTramadol is widely used as analgesic in trauma patients. However, it causes side effects, most notably nausea and vomiting. This study aim to determine the role of prophylactic metoclopramide in preventing tramadol induced nausea and vomiting.
