Examining the Experiences of Brain Injury Patients in Medical Trials
Brain InjuriesHistorically, participation in clinical trials has been skewed towards certain groups. However, research on the factors that influence participation, both positive and negative, is limited. Brain injury clinical trial patients help us identify these factors by sharing trial experiences during the course of the interventional medical study. This study will include a diverse group of participants to gather a wide range of information on clinical trial experiences. The collected data will then be used to benefit future brain injury patients who are considering participating in a medical study.

Complications WoundsNegative Pressure Wound Therapy10 moreIncisional negative pressure therapy (INPWT) has previously been shown in certain patient populations to decrease wound healing complications, decrease the rate of hematomas and seromas, as well as have better scar quality. We have found a group of patients, those who have panniculectomies in preparation for renal transplant, with significantly higher rates of wound healing complications. We believe the best way to demonstrate benefits of incisional negative pressure wound therapy will be in this group of patients known to have significantly higher rates of wound complications.

Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in the Evaluation of Abdominal Injuries in Children
Abdominal InjuryThis study proposes to evaluate the accuracy of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in diagnosing abdominal solid organ injuries in pediatric patients. 146 subjects will be enrolled across approximately 8 sites in the US. All subjects will have had a Computerized Tomography (CT) scan as part of standard of care, confirming at least one solid organ abdominal injury. All subjects will have an abdominal ultrasound without contrast, followed by a contrast-enhanced ultrasound using the contrast agent Lumason. Ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound results will be compared to the CT scan results. The study procedures will take place within 48 hours of injury.

AmnioClear™ allograft human amniotic membrane is regulated solely under section 361 of the Public Health Service Act. The purpose of the study is to see if this treatment works to accelerate the healing time of chronic wounds.
