PET-imaging of Unruptured Intracranial Aneurysm Inflammation
Intracranial AneurysmCerebral Aneurysm1 moreThe main purpose of this study is to determine if PET-imaging can be used to evaluate inflammation level of intracranial aneurysms, thus helping to evaluate the rupture risk of intracranial aneurysm.
Prognostic Factors for Descending Necrotizing Mediastinitis Development in Deep Space Neck Infections...
InfectionMediastinitis2 moreDescending necrotizing mediastinitis (DNM) is the most serious complication of deep neck infections (DNI) with high mortality. The objective of this retrospective study was to evaluate possible prognostic factors for DNM development in deep space neck infections.
The Relationship Between Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scores and Sensory Testing in Axial Spondyloarthritis...
Central SensitisationAxial Spondyloarthritis1 moreAxial spondyloarthritis is one of the most common rheumatic diseases and chronic pain and morning stiffness are the main complaints of these patients. Central sensitization is defined as increased response to normal or sub-threshold stimuli of central nervous system and its close relationship with many rheumatological diseases has been demonstrated in several studies. There is no method for the diagnosis of central sensitization is accepted as a gold standard. The clinical scales and quantitative sensory testing (QST) widely is used for this purpose widely. The most commonly used QST types include pressure pain threshold (PPT), temporal summation (TS) and conditioned pain modulation (CPM). The well-known scale used for the evaluation of central sensitization is the Central Sensitization Inventory (CSI) , developed in 2011 for detect central sensitization in chronic pain patients. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between QST and CSI and sacroiliac MRI changes.
The Relationship Between Systemic Immune Inflammation Index and Disease Activity in Patients With...
Ankylosing SpondylitisIn this study, the aim was to investigate the relationship between SII and other laboratory parameters with disease activity in AS patients and to discuss its usability in the follow-up and treatment process.
Ultrafiltration in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery: An Observational Cohort Study
Congenital Heart DiseaseInflammationInfants and children undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) can experience systemic inflammation that prolongs post-operative recovery. Ultrafiltration is an intra-opreative technique that is hypothesized to extract circulating inflammatory mediators during the CPB time. There have been only a few small studies looking at a limited number of inflammatory marker profiles in this context. Our institution uses an innovative form of ultrafiltration "subzero-balance simple-modified ultrafiltration" (SBUF-SMUF) throughout the entire CPB time. SBUF-SMUF has been our standard of care for the last 5 years. This observational seeks to describe the clinical and immunologic outcomes of infants and children undergoing cardiac surgery with CBP and SBUF-SMUF.
Is Monocyte/HDL Ratio a Predictor of Mortality in Aortic Valve Surgery
InflammationAortic Valve Stenosis1 moreIn this study, the investigators aimed to determine whether the preoperative Monocyte/HDL ratio would be a predictor of postoperative mortality and morbidity in patients who underwent aortic valve replacement due to aortic stenosis.
International T1 Multicentre CMR Outcome Study
CardiomyopathyHeart Failure4 moreMyocardial fibrosis is the fundamental substrate for the development of heart failure. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) allows non-invasive assessment of myocardial fibrosis based on late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and T1 mapping. Patients: Prospective longitudinal observational multicenter study of consecutive patients with suspected or known non-ischemic cardiomyopathy. Imaging: Non-invasive measures of myocardial fibrosis: native T1, extracellular volume fraction (ECV) and LGE. Primary endpoints: all cause and cardiovascular mortality. Secondary endpoints: arrhythmic composite and HF composite endpoints.
Acute Lung Injury After Cardiac Surgery: Pathogenesis
Acute Lung InjuryMetabolic Disturbances3 moreThe purpose of the present study is to visualize the inflammatory response and coagulation disorders during cardiac surgery in order to identify possible predictors for acute lung injury postoperatively.
Normative State and Variation in Growth, Hematology, Hydration, Oxidation, Infection, Inflammation,...
HealthyThis study will provide the researchers with an opportunity for the investigation of the biomarkers and different human biology component variable interactions in children; information that can generate new correlations between markers not known at the moment. Regarding their analysis, variation could have multiple connotations. A categorical that refers to a specific state, established with a diagnostic standard. And a numerical, referring to a range or the absolute value limits in a continuous spectrum; this research will allow us to express variability in the distance amplitude of the obtained values level, as well as classifications or categories previously established in the possible cases. OBJECTIVES PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE To estimate the inter and intra-individual variety in a selected series or biological variables determinant of growth, body composition, infection, oxidation, inflammation and hydration, in preschool children sharing the same institutional-based diet. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES To determine the inter and intra-individual variation of growth in preschool children, with a similar diet, who attend Secretariat of Beneficial Works of the First Lady system daycare centers and to compare between semi-urban and rural. To describe the inter-individual variation of the red blood cells circulating mass in preschool children, with a similar diet, who attend day care centers and to compare between semi-urban and rural. To determine the inter-individual variation of systemic and intraintestinal oxidation in preschool children, with a similar diet, who attend daycare centers and to compare between semi-urban and rural. To describe the inter-individual variation of systemic and intraintestinal inflammation in preschool children, with a similar diet, who attend daycare centers and to compare between semi-urban and rural. To determine the inter and/or intra-individual variation of urinary tract infection and gastrointestinal parasite infestation in preschool children, with a similar diet, who attend daycare centers and to compare between semi-urban and rural. To describe the inter and intra-individual variation of the hydration status in preschool children, with a similar diet, who attend daycare centers and to compare between semi-urban and rural. To explore intra-individual associations in variables of the same research component or different component variables.
Longterm Outcomes of Venous Ulcers After Foam Sclerotherapy
Chronic Venous Hypertension With Ulcer and InflammationThe purpose of this study is to determine long term healing rates of chronic venous ulcers (CVU) after ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy (UGFS) of superficial venous reflux (SVR) and to relate recurrence of CVU to evidence of recanalisation and the presence of superficial or deep venous reflux
