The Effects of Crocin Supplementation on Metabolic Parameters, Oxidative Stress, AMP- Activated...
Type 2 DiabetesTo study the effects of crocin supplement in patients with type 2 diabetes, 50 patients will be randomly allocated to placebo group and 2 tablets of crocin for 12 weeks. At the first and the end of the intervention, lipid profiles, blood pressure, blood sugar, inflammatory and anthropometric factors will be assessed and compared between groups.

Effects of Non-invasive Neuromodulation on Food Desire, Chewing Pattern, Executive Functions and...
CravingMastication Disorder5 moreFrom the change in self-regulation, memory is inhibited, allowing individuals to suppress or ignore unwanted or outdated associations and thus help to filter information relevant to dietary goals from irrelevant information. Provoking changes in neuroplasticity and cortical excitability contribute to the regulation of neural activity. Both could be modified by applying direct electrical current to the sensorimotor cortex, with polarity/current-dependent results, and their effect would last for hours after the end of stimulation. Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS), translated into Portuguese as Estimulação Transcraniana por Corrente Contínua (ETCC) is a neuromodulating tool in which a low-intensity electrical current is applied to the scalp to modulate neuronal activity.

Clinical Efficacy Evaluation of Three Dentifrices
Gingival Inflammation and BleedingDental PlaqueClinical study to evaluate and compare the efficacy of two baking soda containing dentifrices, containing 20% and 35% baking soda, to a non-baking soda dentifrice for their ability to reduce gingivitis and plaque following 6-months of use.

Evaluation of PerioMonitor for Detection of Oral Inflammatory Load (OIL) in Human Subjects.
Oral InflammationThe purpose of this multicenter, prospective, single arm Study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of PerioMonitor as an aid to the detection of oral inflammation associated with periodontal diseases. PerioMonitor is an IVD device for the rapid, semi-quantitative detection of neutrophil enzyme activity in oral samples. This test is intended for prescription use at Point-of-Care ("POC") settings by health care professionals.

Impact of Daily Use of The Emanate Tray Adjunct to Full Mouth Debridement Compared to Full Mouth...
Wound HealMouth; Wound1 moreThe study is a 56-day (8-week), randomized, controlled, examiner-blinded, parallel-design study of patients with existing Stage II or Stage III periodontitis. After eligibility determination, subjects will be randomized to the following groups: Group 1: Full mouth periodontal debridement + Emanate Tray (treatment group) Group 2: Full mouth periodontal debridement alone (control group) Patients will be evaluated at Baseline and on Days 14, 28, and 56 for primary endpoint and at baseline and on day 56 post-treatment for secondary (efficacy) endpoints.

Evaluatıon Of The Possible Effect Of Inspıratory Muscle Training On Inflammation Markers And Oxıdatıve...
Asthma in ChildrenChildren1 moreAs inflammation and oxidative stress increase in asthma patients, the severity of symptoms and clinical findings increase. Therefore, this study was planned to evaluate the possible effect of inspiratory muscle training (IMT) on inflammation markers and oxidative stress in childhood asthma. The study included asthma patient; 35 routine medication, 35 drug therapy and inspiratory muscle training (IMT), and 35 healthy total 105 children aged 8-17 years. Demographic information and hemogram values were recorded. Functional capacity was evaluated with the 6-minute walking test, quality of life PedsQL, respiratory muscle strength oral pressure measuring device, respiratory function test, dyspnea severity with Modified Borg Scale. C-Reactive Protein (CRP), Periostin, Transforming Growth Factor-βeta (TGF-β), Total Antioxidant Status (TAS), Total Oxidant Status (TOS), Oxidative Stress Index (OSI) were analyzed. IMT was given with a Threshold IMT device for 7 days/6 weeks at 30% of maximal inspiratory pressure, and then a second evaluation was made.

Periodontitis and Inflammation in Children With Down Syndrome/Trisomy 21: Study on Biological Samples...
PeriodontitisTrisomy 21Since 2018, the Chicago Classification of Periodontal Diseases and Conditions, has listed Down syndrome (DS)/trisomy 21 (T21) as a systemic disease with periodontal implications. Numerous studies report an increased prevalence and severity of periodontitis in DS/T21 individuals under the age of 35. Approximately 35% of adolescents with DS show early signs of alveolar bone loss. However, very few studies have examined the role of immune deficiency in DS/T21 patients in the pathogenesis of periodontitis. Indeed, periodontitis induced by bacterial plaque is virtually non-existent in the paediatric population, leaving the field to systemically-induced periodontitis. The investigators hypothesize that specific neutrophil phenotypes in DS/T21 patients are key to explaining the rapid progression to periodontitis. Investigator's primary objective is to characterize the different oral and blood neutrophil subtypes in DS/T21 children with gingival inflammation. Investigator's secondary objective is to assess the involvement of different neutrophil subtypes in early periodontitis in children with DS/T21.

Assessment of Trace Elements, Systemic Inflammation and Electrolytes
CopdCOPD is one of the most common causes of health problems worldwide. It is a disease that is associated with several systemic features that affect its morbidity and mortality.

Efficacy of Green and White Tea Extract Mouthwashes in the Management of Plaque-induced Gingivitis:...
Gingivitis; ChronicOxidative Stress1 moreBackground and objective: Tea is the second most consumed drink in the world after water. Gingivitis is among the most common infectious diseases. In this clinical study, Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHX) was chosen as the positive control group and the clinical and biochemical efficacy of mouthwashes with green tea, white tea and essential oil (EO) as the active ingredients were aimed to be examined comprehensively. Methods: 112 participants with gingivitis were randomly assigned to 4 different groups that different mouthwashes were used for 4 weeks. CHX-MW group (0.12% CHX, as a positive control group), EO-MW group (Listerine), GT-MW group (5% Green tea), and WT-MW group (5% White tea). The effects of the mouthwashes on plaque, inflammation, and dental staining were evaluated by indexed scores at the beginning and the end of the 4th week. In addition, markers related to gingival inflammation (IL-1beta, MMP-8) and oxidative stress (TOS, TAS, OSI (TOS/TAS)) were evaluated on samples from the gingival crevicular fluid.

Bioavailability and Tolerability of Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Topical Lotion 1%
Atopic DermatitisAtopic Dermatitis Eczema10 moreThe investigational lotion is envisaged as an short- and long term "Ease & Prevent" monotherapy for adults and children with mild to moderate eczema. With itch representing the most burdensome symptom in eczema, the main objectives with the lotion is fast and efficient itch relief, high tolerability, and high short- and long term safety. This phase 1 study aims to monitor skin tolerability, and how much of the active compound that is absorbed to the bloodstream.
