Sequencing T-cells in Type I Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes MellitusType 12 moreThe purpose of this study is to investigate CD8 + T-cell receptor (TCR) repertoire differences between patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus and type 2 diabetes or healthy controls.
Studies of Pancreatic Islet Mass by Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
Type 1 DiabetesThis study investigates the hypothesis that differences in beta-cell mass in patients with diabetes and healthy individuals can be monitored by the positron emission tomography (PET) tracer [11C]5-hydroxytryptophane.

DiabetesDiabetes Mellitus3 moreThis study conducted in Europe. The aim of this study is to evaluated the use of insulin detemir (Levemir®) in insufficiently controlled patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
Pancreas Volume in Preclinical Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 DiabetesType 1 diabetes (T1D) is characterized by a progressive destruction of insulin producing beta cells, resulting in a lifelong dependence on exogenous insulin. While beta cells make up less than 1% of the pancreas, studies have demonstrated that T1D is associated with a marked reduction of pancreatic mass at diagnosis and as the disease progresses. As such, if pancreatic volume assessment, by ultrasonography (US) or MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), could be utilized as a marker of beta cell function in high risk patients, non-invasive pancreatic imaging could become an important part of staging diabetes risk. As such, the primary goal of this study is to measure pancreatic volume and compare differences in volume between new onset T1D patients, antibody positive subjects at risk for diabetes, antibody negative individuals, and healthy controls.

DiabetesDiabetes Mellitus3 moreThis survey is conducted in South America. The aim of this survey is to investigate hypoglycaemia among Insulin-treated patients with diabetes.
The Multi-Sensor Distance Accuracy Study
Type 1 Diabetes MellitusThe purpose of the study is to test the accuracy benefit of having two glucose sensors (over one sensor alone) when they are positioned: 2mm, 10mm, 20mm, or 30mm apart. It is not yet known how close two sensors can be and still work correctly.
