The study examines time spent in the emergency room on admission of patients with hip fracture in a cohort with a traditional setup compared with a prospective cohort with a fast track admission schedule including nurse initiation of treatmnet, standardized analgesia, fluid and oxygen therapy and standardized logistics for x-ray and admission procedures.

We prospectively reviewed the results of 30 patients who had undergone intramedullary fixation with a gamma nail for femur trochentric fractures in AUH. within 1 year

Hip fracture is a osteoporosis-related fracture with higher mortality, and is a major public health issue in China. The British Orthopedic Association and the British Geriatric Society have published the UK Blue Book, which summarizes current evidence and best practice in the hip fracture care and secondary prevention, but this kind of standardized practice in hip fracture care is not yet existed in China. The Blue Book standards will be used as the most contemporary evidence-based guidelines for management of hip fracture.This study is to prospectively examine the barriers and facilitators in the current management of hospital in China by comparing the Blue Book standards.

In the present study we will compare bacteriological findings and the incidence of SSI in relation to laminar airflow (LAF) ventilated ORs, conventional (also called displacement or mixed) ventilated ORs and conventional ventilated ORs with the addition of tables equipped with units providing a local LAF over the surgical instruments. The hypothesis is that there exist a correlation between number and types of airborne bacteria and bacteria in the surgical wound and on surgical instruments at the time of wound closure.

We are looking after gene-polymorphies in the p2x7-gene in patient with osteoporotic fractures.
