Strategy for Adequate Blood Pressure Lowering in the Patients With Intracranial Atherosclerosis...
Brain IschemiaTo develop adequate blood pressure (BP) lowering strategy after subacute ischemic stroke patients with symptomatic severe intracranial atherosclerosis. Primary hypothesis of this study is that aggressive BP control (lowering systolic BP between 110mmHg and 120mmHg) will not increase the ischemic lesion volumes in hemisphere compared to modest BP lowering (lowering systolic BP between 130mmHg and 140mmHg) in the patients with symptomatic severe intracranial atherosclerosis.
PCSK9 Inhibition in Patients With Symptomatic Intracranial Atherosclerosis
StrokeIntracranial Atherosclerosis1 moreThis will be a randomized double blind placebo-controlled pilot study using a repeated measures design in which participants with acute ischemic stroke and intracranial atherosclerotic disease are randomized to either drug or placebo.
Remote Ischemic Conditioning Combined With Endovascular Stenting for Symptomatic Intracranial Atherosclerotic...
Intracranial ArteriosclerosisIschemic Preconditioning1 moreThe purpose of this registry is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of RIC for patients with symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (sICAS) undergoing endovascular therapy.
Boston Scientific Embolic Protection, Inc. (EPI): A Carotid Stenting Trial for High-Risk Surgical...
Carotid Artery DiseasesStroke1 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine whether morbidity and mortality for high-risk surgical patients treated with the Carotid Wallstent in conjunction with the FilterWire EX and EZ System distal protection device will be less than or equal to that of objective performance criteria (OPC) derived from historic controls undergoing surgical intervention with a carotid endarterectomy (CEA).
Cholesterol-Lowering Atherosclerosis Study (CLAS)
Arterial Occlusive DiseasesCardiovascular Diseases8 moreTo determine whether combined therapy with the lipid lowering agents colestipol hydrochloride plus niacin would produce significant change in coronary, carotid, and femoral artery atherosclerosis and coronary bypass graft lesions as determined by angiography. Also, to determine possible correlations between lesion changes and plasma lipid and lipoprotein cholesterol levels and to explore interrelationships of atherosclerosis change in femoral, coronary, and carotid arteries.
Clinical Trial of Efficacy and Safety of Divaza for Adjustment of Oxidative Disorders in Patients...
Cerebral AtherosclerosisThe purpose of this study is to obtain additional data on efficacy and safety of Divaza for adjustment of oxidative disorders in patients with cerebral atherosclerosis. It is assumed that the inclusion of the drug Divaza in the basic therapy will help reduce the severity of cognitive disorders, other clinical symptoms of cerebral atherosclerosis, reduce the impact of the disease on the quality of life of the patient. Participate in the study may be patients with a diagnosis of "cerebral atherosclerosis", which, against the backdrop of basic therapy with constant doses of drugs (within the last 4 weeks), to achieve a stable course of cerebral atherosclerosis, cognitive disorders without significant disability are detected.
Study of Cilostazol and Probucol Alone and in Combination on Atherosclerosis Related Biomarker---atherosclerosis...
Atherosclerosis Cerebral InfarctionRandomized, control, open label, multicentre clinical study. The patient who are in accordance with subject inclusion and exclusion criteria will be randomized to A group: Routine treatment B group: Routine treatment+ Cilostazol; C group : Routine treatment + Probucol; D group: Routine treatment+ Cilostazol+ Probucol .
A SAD/MAD Study of Safety, Tolerability and Pharmacologic Activity of BT200 in Normal Volunteers...
Cerebrovascular StrokeLarge-Artery Atherosclerosis (Embolus/Thrombosis)1 moreStudy BT200-01 is a first in human (FIH) study in male and female normal human volunteers (NHVs) that uses an Integrated Protocol Design. This Phase 1 study will comprise 4 sub-parts: Part A, a single ascending dose (SAD) study; Part B, a multiple ascending dose (MAD) study; Part C, a desmopressin challenge study to explore (i) whether desmopressin could be used as an antidote, and/or (ii) whether desmopressin stimulated vonWillebrand Factor (VWF) release is overcome with increasing BT200 doses; and Part D, a relative bioavailability (BA) study. The primary objective of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability profile of BT200 in NHVs.
Vitamin E and C to Slow Progression of Common Carotid Artery Plaque Build-Up
Cardiovascular DiseasesCarotid Artery Diseases5 moreThis study will evaluate the effects of vitamin E supplementation in retarding the progression of common carotid artery intima-media thickening in African Americans.
Pilot Study of Pre-Ischemic Conditioning for Intracranial Atherosclerosis
Intracranial AtherosclerosisThe purpose of this study is to determine the effects of the Doctormate device, a specialized blood pressure cuff used to perform remote limb ischemic conditioning, on cerebral blood flow in subjects with intracranial atherosclerosis. Previous studies in patients with narrowing of the brain arteries have shown that this device is safe to use and suggested that if this device is inflated in both arms for 5 minutes, followed by deflation for 5 minutes and repeated 4 times in a row every day for 6-9 months, the risk of another stroke is lowered and the device may increase the blood flow to the brain.
