A Phase I Prevention Study of Atorvastatin in Women at Increased Risk for Breast Cancer
Atypical Ductal Breast HyperplasiaBreast Cancer2 moreChemoprevention is the use of certain drugs to keep cancer from forming. The use of atorvastatin (Lipitor) may prevent breast cancer. This randomized phase I trial is studying the best dose of atorvastatin in preventing breast cancer in women at increased risk for breast cancer.
Circulating Tumor Cells to Guide Chemotherapy for Metastatic Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer Ductal Infiltrating MetastaticEvaluation of the use of Circulating tumour Cells to guide chemotherapy from the 3rd line of chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer.
Pilot Study to Define the Immune Response Following Cryoablation of Invasive Breast Cancer
Invasive Ductal CarcinomaBreastThis study will investigate the safety, feasibility, and immune response associated with cryoablation of early invasive breast cancer prior to lumpectomy. Based on mouse models, the investigators believe that cryoablation will initiate a stronger immune response relative to the control group. Consenting patients will be randomized to one of two arms: standard of care (control) or cryoablation (intervention). Participants will undergo a blood draw at the time of consent. Those in the control arm will continue with their standard of care lumpectomy. The intervention arm will receive cryoablation 2 weeks before their scheduled lumpectomy and undergo a second blood draw before the lumpectomy.
Extent of Breast Cancer and the Role of Pre-Operative Sonography and MRI
Ductal Breast Carcinoma In SituStage IA Breast Cancer2 moreThis clinical trial studies mammography and targeted ultrasound with or without whole-breast ultrasound or contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in finding out the extent of disease before surgery in patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer. New diagnostic imaging procedures, such as whole-breast ultrasound or contrast-enhanced MRI, may help find out how far breast cancer has spread. It is not yet known whether mammography and targeted ultrasound are more effective with or without whole-breast ultrasound or contrast-enhanced MRI in finding out how far breast cancer has spread.
Study of Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) in Triple Negative Breast Cancer Survivors
Benign Breast NeoplasmDuctal Breast Carcinoma In Situ10 moreThis randomized phase II trial studies how well docosahexaenoic acid works in preventing recurrence in breast cancer survivors. Docosahexaenoic acid supplement may prevent recurrence in breast cancer survivors.
Bexarotene in Preventing Breast Cancer in Patients at High Risk for Breast Cancer
Breast Atypical Ductal HyperplasiaBreast Atypical Lobular Hyperplasia3 moreThis phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of bexarotene in preventing breast cancer in patients at high risk for breast cancer. Bexarotene belongs to a class of drugs that are called rexinoids, and it may reduce the incidence of breast tumors.
Transdermal or Oral Telapristone Acetate in Treating Patients Undergoing Mastectomy
BRCA1 Mutation CarrierBRCA2 Mutation Carrier7 moreThis randomized trial studies transdermal or oral telapristone acetate in treating patients undergoing surgery to remove the breast (mastectomy). Telapristone acetate may help prevent breast cancer from forming in premenopausal women. Giving telapristone acetate transdermally may be safer and have fewer side effects than oral administration.
Pilot Study of Curcumin for Women With Obesity and High Risk for Breast Cancer
Atypical Ductal Breast HyperplasiaBRCA1 Gene Mutation3 moreThis randomized pilot clinical trial studies a nanoemulsion formulation of curcumin in reducing inflammatory changes in breast tissue in obese women at high risk for breast cancer. Curcumin may reduce inflammation in breast tissue and fat. This may affect the risk of developing breast cancer.
Magnetic Resonance Thermal Image Guided Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy in Treating Patients...
Ductal Breast Carcinoma in SituInvasive Ductal Breast Carcinoma2 moreThis pilot clinical trial studies magnetic resonance thermal image guided laser interstitial thermal therapy in treating patients with breast cancer. Magnetic resonance thermal image guided laser interstitial thermal therapy may be able to kill tumor cells by heating up the tumor cells without affecting the surrounding tissue
Oxybutynin Chloride in Managing Hot Flashes
Breast CarcinomaDuctal Breast Carcinoma In Situ3 moreThis randomized phase III trial studies how well oxybutynin chloride works in managing hot flashes in patients who are not candidates for, or not interested in hormone replacement therapy. Previous studies have shown that oxybutynin is effective in managing hot flashes, however doses used in prior studies have resulted in side effects. This trial is evaluating lower doses of oxybutynin with the goal of determining if they are efficacious with less side effects. ADAM-VTE
