Type 2 Diabetes Evaluation of Ranolazine in Subjects With Chronic Stable Angina

This study will evaluate the effect of ranolazine compared to placebo on the average weekly angina frequency in subjects with chronic stable angina and coronary artery disease (CAD) who have a history of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and whether ranolazine can reduce the frequency of angina (chest pain) attacks, compared to a placebo. Subjects will be asked to record their daily angina episodes in a diary at the end of each study day. Ranolazine is approved for the treatment of chronic angina, and is not approved for the treatment of T2DM.

A prospective multicenter registry in real-world Japanese patients undergoing DAPT for three months after stenting. To assess the long-term safety of Endeavor Zotarolimus-eluting stent through noninferiority in the primary endpoint between two different continuous regimen (three and twelve months) groups of DAPT after stenting with Endeavor Zotarolimus-eluting stent in real-world Japanese patients and to examine the optimal duration of DAPT after stenting with Endeavor Zotarolimus-eluting stent. The long-term DAPT group in the present clinical study (to be appropriated from the post-marketing surveillance of Endeavor) should consist of consecutive patients undergoing DAPT for twelve months after stenting, while the short-term DAPT group (to be newly registered in the present clinical study) should consist of patients who are instructed to undergo DAPT for three months after stenting.

A Study of Dalcetrapib in Patients Hospitalized For An Acute Coronary Syndrome (Dal-ACUTE)

This double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multi-center study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of dalcetrapib in patients hospitalized for an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Treatment will be initiated within 1 week after the ACS. Patients will be randomized to receive dalcetrapib 600 mg as daily oral doses or matching placebo. The anticipated time on study treatment is 20 weeks.

In spite of improved treatments still many patients with CAD have daily attacks of severe chest pain and severely reduced life quality. The investigators have established a double-blind placebo-controlled trial in patients with CAD to test efficacy and safety of treatment with adipose derived stem cells to improve perfusion in the heart muscle and exercise capacity, and reduce the patient's symptoms.

Phase II clinical trial which will include all patients diagnosed with chronic anterior myocardial infarction (more than 6 months from the acute phase and the complete revascularization in which it is assessed the evolution of left ventricular function in patients to the monitoring against their own basal condition. Included patients will be studied in the following conditions: Basal condition: defined as the immediately preceding to the administration of cell therapy treatment. Monitoring Condition 1: three months after drug administration of cell therapy. Includes non-invasive methods of exploration of ventricular function. Monitoring Condition 2: six months after administration of treatment. Includes the same methods of exploration of ventricular function practised in the basal condition, including cardiac catheterism as well as non invasive methods. Monitoring Condition 3: twelve months after administration of the cell therapy drug. Includes non-invasive methods of exploration of ventricular function. The trial hypothesis we propose consists of mononuclear cells of bone marrow providing progenitor cells with regenerative capacity and also secreting several angiogenic factors, and their implantation into ischemic tissues should contribute with both elements to the angiogenesis and tissue regeneration with myocardial functional recovery

Time to Thrombocytic Inhibition After Supine and Upright Ingestion of Efient

The purpose of the study is to clarify wether body posture during ingestion of 60mg Efient, a thrombocytic inhibitor, has influence on the time to thrombocytic inhibition. The study aims to mimic the treatment Danish patients receive when admitted to the hospital with a ST-elevation myocardial infarction since these patients are refereed to acute Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) necessitating fast and efficient thrombocytic inhibition. Current guidelines recommend the administration of Efient right before the PCI procedure, while the patient is lying down, either in the ambulance or in the operating room. We, the investigators, believe that this is suboptimal for the patient, since any sort of prolonged inhibition time will possibly worsen the patients prognosis and make the patient more prone to later clotting issues. Our hypothesis is that by making the patients ingest the tablets in a 90 degrees upright position and making them sit up for 2 minutes after ingestion, the effect of the pills will commence faster than if taken in a supine position. This will possibly lead to faster inhibition of the thrombocytes, which we believe will lead to a lower incidence of clotting issues during and after the procedure.
