Study of Two Formulations of Cyclosporine Ophthalmic Emulsion in Healthy Volunteers and in Patients...
Dry Eye SyndromesThis study will evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of two formulations of cyclosporine ophthalmic emulsion in healthy adults (parallel-group phase). The parallel-group phase will be followed by a paired-eye phase which will evaluate the safety and tolerability of two formulations of cyclosporine ophthalmic emulsion compared with cyclosporine ophthalmic emulsion (RESTASIS®) in patients with dry eye.
Safety and Efficacy of Optive in Contact Lens Wearers With Dry Eyes
Dry EyeThe purpose of this study is to determine if Optive®eye drops are safe for people who wear contact lenses and have dry eyes. The second goal of the study is to determine if using Optive®eye drops can improve my dry eye scores on a standard dry eye test (called the OSDI).
Quality of Life and Visual Acuity of Visglyc Eye Drops on Dry Eye Patients
Dry Eye SyndromesCataractClinical trial with medical devices, post-authorization, parallel, single-blind, randomized, comparative, prospective to study how afects the quality of life the use of ocular eye drops on patients with dry eye symptomatology and age-related loss of visual acuity. Secondary purposes: efects on the dry eye symptomatology, efect on visual acuity and treatment adherence.
A Non-inferiority Study of Eyestil® Plus Multidose Versus Vismed Multi®
Dry Eye SyndromesSIFI SpA had developed Eyestil Plus®. It is sterile eyedrops without preservatives with a physiological pH containing sodium hyaluronate. Its intended purpose is to moisturize, lubricate and protect the ocular surface and gives temporary relief to burning, irritation and dry eye-related discomfort, and other complaints induced, for example, by: prolonged use of either soft, semi rigid or rigid contact lenses; exposure to environmental factors (air conditioning, exposure to solar radiation, wind, smoke, pollution, severe climatic conditions, dust); ocular fatigue caused by studying, working, driving or prolonged exposure to electronic devices. Eyestil Plus® is CE marked but not available yet in all European countries. Considering the European regulatory change on medical devices - from a Directive (Directive 1993/42/EEC) to a Regulation (MDR 2017/745) that now requires clinical evidence of device performance and safety; SIFI Spa decided to implement the present clinical comparative performance study. The choice of Vismed Multi® as the comparator has been done since it is the current French standard of care treatment for patients with moderate to severe dry eyes.
Exploratory Study Comparing Signs and Symptoms in Patients With Ocular Hypertension or Glaucoma...
Dry Eye DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to determine if there is a difference in the ocular signs and symptoms of subjects' eyes using Xalatan® 0.005% versus Travatan Z® 0.004% based on the outcome of subject assessment and clinical assessment in patients with Ocular Hypertension or Glaucoma with mild to moderate dry eye at baseline in accordance with the Oxford Grading Scale.
The Effect of a New Emulsion in Dry Eye Patients on Tear Layer Aberrometry, Contrast Sensitivity,...
Dry Eye SyndromeThe purpose of this study is to investigate how the addition of a new emulsion artificial tear to the tear layer of dry eye and normal patients affects aberrometry, contrast sensitivity, and reading ability over time. Previous studies have indicated that daily use of artificial tears over a two week period decreases the short term affect of drop application on aberrometry and contrast sensitivity measurements. The present study will examine the effects of 4 weeks of artificial tear use to determine when the responses stabilize.
A Comparison of Optive in Patients Previously Using Systane for the Treatment of Dry Eye
Dry EyeTo evaluate the effectiveness of NGT (Optive) vs. Systane Tears for patients with moderate to severe dry eye disease.
Evaluation of Blink Tears and Systane Concomitant With Restasis for the Treatment of Dry Eye Symptoms...
Dry Eye SyndromeThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of Blink Tears and Systane used concomitantly with topical cyclosporine for the treatment of dry eye.
A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Effectiveness of Restylane-Defyne for Punctual Occlusion
Mild to Moderate Dry Eye DiseaseA study which participants with mild to moderate dry eye disease will have a punctum of one eye injected with Restyalne Defyne and the other eye injected with saline solution. Participants will be evaluated over four visits.
Changes in Tear Lipid Layer Thickness After Short Exposure to Light Emitting Diode Displays
Lipid Tear Deficiency (Disorder)Dry Eye DiseaseVideo display terminals (VDTs) are ubiquitous, and engagement in digital screens has grown substantially across all age groups worldwide. Prolonged exposure to VDTs is associated with the development of various health problems. By now, it is unclear whether transient exposure to VDTs leads to ocular surface changes, especially regarding lipid layer thickness (LLT). This study aim to determine if short-term exposure to light-emitting diodes (LEDs) leads to ocular parameter changes. This is a prospective, cross-sectional study. Patients were recruited at the National Cheng-Kung University Hospital, a tertiary referral center in southern Taiwan, for examination, including best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), lipid layer thickness (LLT), and blink rates and patterns before and after watching an LED display for 15 minutes. The estimated result is that the LLT and blink rates will decrease after VDT watching.
