Comparison of Efficacy, Safety and Anti-Inflammatory Effect Between Topical 0.05%Cyclosporine A...
Dry EyeTo compare the efficacy, safety and tolerability of 0.05% topical cyclosporin eye drop to Refresh in moderate to severe dry eye patients. Null hypothesis is: there is no difference between these two groups.
Clinical Outcome of Lipiflow Treatment Prior to Cataract Surgery in Dry Eye Patients
Dry EyeTo investigate the clinical outcome of Lipiflow treatment prior to cataract surgery in patients with meibomian gland dysfunction and dry eye disease
Optical Coherence Tomography of Tear Film Dynamics In-Vivo
Dry Eye DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to evaluate a new instrument that takes digital images of tear film (a thin film that coats the eye that is made up of oil and water). The investigators are interested in measuring how the thickness of the tear film varies through time. The goal is to develop a technique that may enable non-invasive evaluation of Dry Eye Disease for future clinical diagnosis.
Closed Eye Neutrophils in Dry Eye Disease
Dry EyeOcular InflammationThe purpose of this prospective study is to evaluate different inflammatory cells that accumulate on the ocular surface, during sleep, and how these cells may contribute to dry eye disease. This study will involve at-home self-collection of tears using an eye wash method with sterile saline solution. While a diagnostic technique, the eye wash may also have a therapeutic benefit in dry eye sufferers, which will be assessed in the second phase of this project.
Effect of Intraoperative Dexamethasone on Post-op Dry Eye
Dry Eye SyndromesTo compare the signs and symptoms of dry eye after cataract surgery between subjects randomized to receive intraoperative dexamethasone in addition to the use of a standard topical post-op treatment regimen.
The Effect of Ablation Depth on Dry Eye After LASIK Treatment of Myopia
Incidence and Severity of Dry Eye After Myopic LASIKThe study tried to find the relation between ablation depth and degree of dryness after LASIK treatment of myopic patients
Wireless Micropump in Dry Eye Patients
Dry EyeThe purpose of this study is to carry out a trial to get more convincing and valuable results of the wireless micropump in dry eye patients and compare the outcomes before and after eye drops usage. The investigators hope to investigate the micropump comprehensively, including the comparison of tear film break-up time, corneal epithelium defect percentage, and tear film thickness. To meet the demands of a trial, all the examination equipment should be the same for each patient, and this will limit the variations within a study.
Pre-Surgical Ocular Surface Treatment With Intracanalicular Dexamethasone Insert And Effect On Intraocular...
Dry Eye DiseaseCataract Surgery1 moreThis prospective study will use a self controlled design for 35 eyes. Patients scheduled to undergo routine cataract surgery in at least one of their eyes will have their pre-surgical measurements performed, IOL calculated and surgery planned. Then they will receive insertion of an intracanalicular dexamethasone insert into the inferior punctum. At 2 weeks (+/- 2 days) post-insertion, patients will return for an identical set of measurements. The IOL will be calculated and the surgery planned based on post-insert data. The insert will be removed if present (manually or via saline irrigation). This self controlled design allows for greater control of potential confounders tied to participants' systemic and ocular health.
Non-invasive Tear Film Dynamic Measurements in Normal, MGD and ADDE Subjects After Saline Instillation...
Aqueous Deficient Dry EyeMeibomium Gland DysfunctionCompare the objective tear film dynamic measurements in three different populations (MGD [Meibomium Gland Dysfunction], ADDE [Aqueous Deficient Dry Eye] and normal/control [non-dry eye]) and the subjective experience before and after instilling a single drop of saline in each eye. Currently available office-based tests for dry eye do not reliably correlate with patients' subjective symptoms. This study is interested in assessing how individuals with these two different ocular surface diseases compare with the normal population when measured objectively using two different instruments.
Late Phase 2 Study of OPC-12759 Ophthalmic Suspension
Dry Eye SyndromesThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the dose-response of OPC-12759 suspension in dry eye patients
