5fluorouracil for Advanced Photoaging
PhotoagingActinic KeratosisIt is well known the efficacy of 5% 5-fluoruracil for multiple and superficial actinic keratosis (AKs)treatment. Recently its additional benefit for advanced and severe photoaging while treating Aks was reported. The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of the two modalities of 5% 5-FU use for forearms photoaging.
Celecoxib in Preventing Skin Cancer in Patients With Actinic Keratoses
Precancerous ConditionRATIONALE: Chemoprevention therapy is the use of certain drugs to try to prevent the development or recurrence of cancer. The use of celecoxib may be an effective way to prevent actinic keratoses. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II/III trial to determine the effectiveness of celecoxib in preventing skin cancer in patients who have actinic keratoses.
DUSA: Cyclic PDT for the Prevention of AK & NMSC in Solid Organ Transplant Recipients
Skin CancerNon-melanoma Skin Cancer2 moreThis is a pilot, phase 2, prospective, comparative study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the combination of Levulan® Kerastick® for Topical Solution and blue light illumination using the BLU-U® Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy Illuminator (LevulanPDT). The study hypothesis is that post solid organ transplantation patients, highly susceptible to non-melanoma skin cancer, can be treated safely and effectively through clinical cyclic application of PDT, lessening morbidity and possible mortality for this immunosuppressed patient population.
Observational Trial Tolerability and Efficacy of Resiquimod Gel in Patients Treated for Actinic...
Actinic KeratosisDetermine the recurrence rate of actinic keratosis (AK) lesions in patients with complete clinical clearance at the end of the previous trial SP848-AK-1101 at 6 and 12 months of follow-up.
Comparative Study of Photodynamic Therapy vs. CO2 Laser Therapy in Treatment of Actinic Keratoses...
Actinic KeratosisThe purpose of this study is to determine whether photodynamic therapy or CO2 laser therapy is superior in the treatment of actinic keratoses with respect to efficacy and side effects.
Topical Ionic Contra-Viral Therapy in Actinic Keratosis
Actinic KeratosisTo explore the pharmacodynamics and evaluate safety, tolerability and clinical efficacy of ICVT comprised of digoxin and furosemide (dual agent), digoxin (single agent), furosemide (single agent) in patients with AK.
IM Versus 5-FU Versus IMI Versus MAL-PDT in Treatment of Actinic Keratosis
KeratosisActinicA multi-centre randomised controled single blind clinical phase IV trial with the aim to determine the most effective treatment in terms of lesion reduction, costs and patient satisfaction in treatment of actinic keratosis (AK), when comparing topical treatment with photodynamic therapy (PDT), 5% 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) cream, 5% Imiquimod (IMI) cream and ingenol mebutate (IM) gel.
Pain Management During a Photodynamic Therapy Session on the Vertex for Actinic Keratosis: Tumescent...
PainActinic Keratosis3 moreThis study focus on the efficacity of tumescent anesthesia in pain management during a photodynamic therapy on the vertex for treatment of actinic keratosis. To do this we carried out a prospective, randomized, controlled, open-ended study. Our aim is to show a 40% reduction in pain during photodynamic therapy session compared to a conventionally used analgesic method (paracetamol + cold water)
Tobacco Cessation Intervention Study for Oral Diseases
Smoking CessationMouth Diseases5 moreThis study is to verify the efficacy of tobacco cessation in patients with oral diseases; periodontitis, dental implant and oral mucosal diseases by a multicenter prospective trial. Tobacco cessation intervention is implemented for 12 weeks. During the tobacco cessation intervention for the subjects, attending doctors implement standard treatments for their oral diseases. Improvement of each disease is evaluated between smoking cessation intervention group and non-cessation intervention group.
Efficacy and Safety of Treatment of Actinic Keratoses With Photodynamic Therapy Between MAL Cream...
Actinic KeratosisPhotodynamic therapy technique (PDT) is a conventional technique which is performed applying the product under occlusion lesions, let it incubate for 3 hours and then exposed skin to a light source, usually red. The conclusions of efficacy, tolerance and satisfaction that today are known about PDT with MAL, but not with ALA, which is a new photosensitizer indicated for Actinic Keratoses. The pharmaceutical form of ALA is a gel, which gives a hypothetical better penetration and consequently it is more effectively.
