To analyze and compare the puncture success rate, puncture fluoroscopy time and intraoperative puncture complications of two different puncture techniques; fluoroscopic bi-planar (0-30º) versus newly reported bi-planar (0-90º) technique in PCNL.

Given the high recurrence of urolithiasis in patients, the search for less aggressive and preventive treatments is increasingly necessary. Renalof® is presented as an alternative to herbal medicine being a product that, due to its diuretic and demineralization properties of kidney stones, has been widely used in this patient population, disintegrating and eliminating calcium oxalate and struvite stones in a painless in the genitourinary system. With the objective of determining the efficacy of this therapy, an observational, prospective, randomized, single-blind, two-arm study was carried out: treatment group with Renalof® and control group, placebo.

Sodium thiosulfate may be useful to prevent recurrence of calcium-containing kidney stones. It will be studied in people with high amounts of urine calcium.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of oxynorm versus morphine after operation for kidney stone (PCNL). In addition the relationship between pain symptoms and referred sensory and trophic changes will be examined in the patients before and after the operation.Finally a blood sample is analysed to investigate pharmaca-genetics.

We will investigate the safety and effectiveness of a mixture of 9 east Indian herbs known as Cystone regarding their ability to dissolve existing kidney stones and prevent formation of new ones. Cystine and calcium stone formers will be recruited for a 59 week trial. The first phase of the study will be two 6 weeks periods during which each subject will receive Cystone or placebo in random order (with a one-week wash out between 6 week treatment periods). The remaining 46 weeks, each subject will receive Cystone. End points are changes in urinary chemistries and stone burden by Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning.

The primary purpose of this study was to compare the effects of erector spinal plane block (ESP) and IV patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) performed to provide analgesia in percutaneous nephrolithotomy surgeries on visual analog skala (VAS), additional analgesia need, patient satisfaction and mobilization times.

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) is the gold standard recommended treatment technique for kidney stones larger than 20 mm. For kidney stones between 10 - 20 mm, both shock wave lithotripsy (SWL) or flexible ureterorenoscopy (f-URS) are recommended as the first choice of treatment and PNL is recommended as the second. In patients who are planned to undergo f-URS, a ureteral access sheath (UAS) is placed in the ureter at the beginning of the operation in order to provide a better image, reduce intra-renal pressure, easier stone fragment retrieval and shorter operative time. In certain cases, such as ureteral stricture, kink or edema, the ureteral access sheath may not be able to successfully inserted into the ureter. At this stage, double-J (JJ) stent can be inserted into the ureter to create passive dilatation, and a second f-URS session can be scheduled a few weeks later. Another option is to perform PNL operation to the patient in the same session. In this randomized prospective study, we aimed to compare these two different surgical approaches in terms of patient comfort and surgical success in patients with kidney stones between 10 - 20 mm in which access sheath insertion was failed in the initial f-URS session.

Background of the project: The surgical treatment of parapelvic cysts is currently less researched and there is no gold standard for surgery. Previously, in percutaneous nephrolithotomy, we found that fenestration and fenestration drainage in the simultaneous treatment of pararenal pelvis cysts under nephroscopic nephroscopic surgery has clear curative effect, less trauma, and quicker recovery. Objective: To clarify the safety, efficacy and long-term efficacy of percutaneous nephroscopy in the treatment of parapelvic cysts. Nature: Retrospective case cohort study. Basic research process: Retrospective collection of cases in our hospital who underwent percutaneous nephroscopy for the treatment of parapelvic cysts, and comparison of preoperative and postoperative cyst size changes and long-term efficacy.
