Gemcitabine and Irinotecan in Treating Patients With Metastatic Kidney Cancer
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine and irinotecan, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying the side effects and how well giving gemcitabine together with irinotecan works in treating patients with metastatic kidney cancer.
Sunitinib Malate in Patients With Non-Clear Cell Renal Cell Cancer
Renal Cell CancerKidney CancerThe goal of this clinical research study is to learn the effectiveness of Sutent® (sunitinib malate, SU011248) in the treatment of patients with non-clear cell renal cell cancer. The safety of sunitinib malate will also be studied.
Radiosurgery in Treating Patients With Kidney Tumors
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Radiosurgery can send x-rays directly to the tumor and cause less damage to normal tissue. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of giving stereotactic radiosurgery and to see how well it works in treating patients with kidney tumors who are poor candidates for surgery.
OGX-011 and Docetaxel in Treating Patients With Metastatic or Locally Recurrent Solid Tumors
Bladder CancerBreast Cancer6 moreRATIONALE: OGX-011 may kill tumor cells by blocking some of the proteins that may cause tumor cells to grow. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving OGX-011 together with docetaxel may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of OGX-011 when given together with docetaxel in treating patients with metastatic or locally recurrent solid tumors.
Axitinib (AG-013736) For the Treatment of Metastatic Renal Cell Cancer
Kidney NeoplasmsThe study is designed to demonstrate that axitinib (AG-013736) is superior to sorafenib in delaying tumor progression in patients with metastatic renal cell cancer.
Sorafenib in Treating Patients With Kidney Cancer That Has Spread to the Brain
Kidney CancerMetastatic CancerThis phase II trial is studying how well sorafenib works in treating patients with kidney cancer that has spread to the brain. Sorafenib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor.
Interferon Alfa in Treating Patients With Stage IV Solid Tumors, Lymphoma, or Myeloma
Breast CancerKidney Cancer6 moreRATIONALE: Interferon alfa may interfere with the growth of cancer cells and slow the growth of cancer. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of interferon alfa in treating patients with stage IV solid tumors, lymphoma, or myeloma.
Sequential ATRA Then IL-2 for Modulation of Dendritic Cells and Treatment of Metastatic Renal Cell...
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Tretinoin may help cells that are involved in the body's immune response to work better. Interleukin-2 may stimulate the white blood cells to kill kidney cancer cells. Giving tretinoin together with interleukin-2 may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying how well giving three different doses of tretinoin together with interleukin-2 works in treating patients with stage IV kidney cancer.
Lenalidomide in Treating Patients With Advanced or Unresectable Kidney Cancer
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Biological therapy such as lenalidomide use different ways to stimulate the immune system and stop tumor cells from growing. It may also stop the growth of tumor cells by stopping blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well lenalidomide works in treating patients with advanced or unresectable kidney cancer.
Vaccine Therapy in Treating Patients With Kidney Cancer
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Vaccines made from DNA may make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. PURPOSE: This randomized phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of vaccine therapy in treating patients with kidney cancer.
