everlinQ Endovascular Access System Enhancements (EASE) Study
Chronic Kidney DiseasesProspective, single-center study to evaluate the everlinQ System when used to create an endoAVF in hemodialysis patients.
A National Registry for People With All Stages of Kidney Disease: the National Kidney Foundation...
Chronic Kidney DiseaseDialysis1 moreFor chronic kidney disease (CKD), there is a lack of unique and powerful platform for patient engagement, research studies and public health advocacy work. The National kidney Foundation (NKF) launched the first nationwide registry for people at all stages and types of CKD, including people on dialysis and kidney transplant recipients, called the NKF Patient Network (NKFPatientNetwork.org). The NKF Patient Network is a non-interventional research study which means participants will not have to take medications or do any additional tests to participate. They are simply asked to share some personal and health information, and their experiences with their disease through a secure portal. The Network also collaborates with health systems to obtain additional electronic health records (EHR) data. This unique combination of data collected will address the gap of individualized educational resources and will enhance clinical research, clinical care, and health policy decisions to be centered on the patient. The NKF Patient Network is all online and can be accessed any time of day at NKFPatientNetwork.org. Participation is voluntary and free.
Chronic Kidney Disease and Myocardial Injury After Non Cardiac Surgery
Myocardial InjurySurgery1 moreInvestigators will conduct a retrospective chart review, examining the impact of chronic kidney disease on risk of myocardial injury after non cardiac surgery (MINS). The objective of this study is to examine interactions between preoperative Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) and the association between preoperative N-Terminal Pro B-Type Natriuretic Peptide (NT-proBNP) and post operative cardiac events in patients undergoing major non cardiac surgery.
Sonoclot to Evaluate Thrombotic Risk in Proteinuric Pregnancy
Pregnancy ComplicationsProteinuria in Pregnancy2 moreThere is a lack of consensus on whether women with proteinuric kidney disease benefit from prophylactic anticoagulation during pregnancy to reduce the risk of venous thromboembolism. This pilot study will investigate the feasibility of obtaining thrombosis profile data using a viscoelastic haemostasis monitor - Sonoclot - from pregnant women with kidney disease, and exploratory analyses to elucidate correlations between output values and clinical parameters
Berberine Prevent Contrast-induced Nephropathy in Patients With Diabetes
Diabetes MellitusChronic Kidney DiseaseThe number of cardiac angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) has increased steadily in recent years. This has resulted in the increasing incidence of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN). Major risk factors for CIN include older age, diabetes mellitus (DM), chronic kidney disease(CKD), the concurrent use of nephrotoxic drugs, hemodynamic instability, etc. Importantly, DM appears to act as a risk multiplier, meaning that in a patient with CKD it amplifies the risk of CIAKI. The aim of this multicenter prospective, randomized, controlled study is to evaluate whether berberine treatment during and after the perioperative period would reduce the risk of CIN in a high-risk population of patients with both DM and CKD undergoing coronary angiography or noncoronary angiography, and the influence of such potential benefit on short-term outcome.
Propolis Effects in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Kidney DiseasesThe aim of this study is to determine the impact of Propolis on proteinuria reduction and protection of the glomerular filtration rate in chronic renal failure patients.
Resistance Exercise Training in Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Kidney DiseaseThe investigators aim to evaluate the feasibility of a resistance exercise training program among individuals with CKD and its impact on endothelial and vascular function.
Strategies Using Darbepoetin Alfa to Avoid Transfusions in Chronic Kidney Disease
Anemia in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients Not on DialysisA phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel group study. Anemic subjects with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and not on dialysis will be randomized 1:1 to 1 of 2 dosing strategies to evaluate the proportion of subjects receiving at least one red blood cell (RBC) transfusion. In the haemoglobin (Hb)-based titration group, darbepoetin alfa doses will be titrated to maintain Hb ≥ 10.0 grams/deciliter (g/dL). In the fixed dose group, subjects will receive a fixed dose of darbepoetin alfa. Treatment group, darbepoetin alfa doses, and protocol specified Hb concentrations will be blinded. Subjects will be followed for approximately 2 years from the date of randomization.
N Acetyl Cysteine for Cystinosis Patients
Renal DiseaseCystinosisThis study intends to verify the interference of N acetyl cysteine in the progression of chronic kidney disease in patients with Nephropathic Cystinosis.
The Use of Low Molecular Weight Heparin in Hemodiafiltration
Chronic Kidney DiseaseLow molecular weight heparin (LMWH) is injected in the dialysis circuit at the start of the session. In the present study we compare 3 different methods of injection of LMWH: parameters of dialysis efficiency and clotting are measured. The study lasts 3 sessions for each patient.
