Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD)Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

The purpose of this survey is to collect information for scientific research and to better understand the role of systemic inflammation in identification, treatment and management of patients with ASCVD and CKD. This study is a cross-sectional design conducted among cardiologists in United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Australia, China, India and France, treating ASCVD and CKD patients. Study participants will be recruited to complete an approximately 20-minute self-administered online survey. Recruitment will be conducted through email and phone. Data is collected though online data collection using a programmed survey.

Chronic Kidney Disease

The objectives of this analysis is to determine the incidence of anemia occurring in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in primary care (i.e. prior to any eventual referral to nephrology care). This analysis also evaluates patient characteristics, anemia treatment and associated cardiovascular risk.

Survey of Patient and Physician Awareness and Values to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Reduced Kidney...

Renal InsufficiencyChronic

In this survey study, researchers want to find out more about how physicians are treating patients diagnosed with reduced kidney function (chronic kidney disease, CKD) and high blood sugar level (type 2 diabetes); what physicians know about the different treatment options available; and how they use this knowledge to treat their patients successfully. Additionally, researchers want to gather information about patient's awareness of their disease and which criteria they consider important for their treatment of the disease. The study will survey a total of 150 patients with type 2 diabetes: 50 patients with mild CKD; 50 patients with moderate CKD; and 50 patients with severe CKD. Patients eligible for this study can be male or female and should be at least 18 years old. In addition, a total of 150 physicians will be surveyed. Physicians eligible for this study may be general practitioners, endocrinologist, or nephrologists.

Pseudoexfoliation and Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic Kidney Disease

Background: Pseudoexfoliation (PEX) is characterised by the deposition of fibrillar material in an eye structures and many other parts of the body including kidneys and blood vessels. As both PEX and chronic kidney disease (CKD) are associated with oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction we studied if the risk of PEX was increased in patients with CKD. Methods: Patients over age 40 with the diagnosis of CKD were included in the study. Chronic kidney disease was diagnosed as decreased glomerular filtration rate (GFR) of less than 60 mL/min/1.73 m². Study groups were arranged as group 1 consisting of HD receiving patients, group 2 consisting of stage 1-4 CKD patients and group 3 consisting of patients with normal kidney functions (control group). Demographic properties and the rate of PEX were evaluated and compaired between the groups.

Renal Denervation for Treatment of Resistant Hypertension in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease...

HypertensionChronic Kidney Disease

Recent clinical studies have demonstrated that catheter-based renal sympathetic nerve ablation is safe and effective in treating patients with resistant hypertension. However, there is limited data on its safety and efficacy in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease. The investigators hypothesize that catheter-based renal sympathetic nerve ablation is safe and effective in the treatment of resistant hypertension in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.
