Serum Omentin-1 and Carotid Atherosclerosis In Non-Diabetic Chronic Kidney Disease

Non-diabetic Chronic Kidney DiseaseAtherosclerosis

The aim of the study is to evaluate whether a low level of serum omentin-1 is associated with carotid atherosclerosis and mediated by inflammation.

Chinese Herb Nephropathy Epidemiology and Association With CYP2D6, CYP2C19, PXR, or MDR1 Polymorphism...

Kidney Diseases

Chinese herb nephropathy (CHN), a kind of kidney failure caused by Chinese herbs, may be related to the a component called aristolochic acid (AA). AA may form AA-DNA adducts and accumulate in the kidney and ureter and cause kidney failure and/or cancer Different enzymes have been reported to detoxify plant alkaloids or other components. Genes that regulate the production of these metabolic enzymes may affect the chance of CHN. By comparing the differences in the polymorphisms of these genes between patient with CHN and control, we may find the changes that play a significant genetic factors for CHN.

Inulin's usefulness as a diagnostic agent is based on the method of its elimination from the body. Inulin is biologically inert, unbound by plasma proteins, freely filtered at the glomerulus, and is neither reabsorbed, metabolized nor secreted by the kidneys. It is excreted almost entirely by glomerular filtration. Inulin clearance is considered to be identical to glomerular filtration rate (GFR).

Urine Adiponectin Concentration in Prediction of Contrast Induced Nephropathy

Myocardial Ischemia

The present study is to determine the ability of urinary total adiponectin and its isoforms excretion in the prediction of contrast induced nephropathy (CIN) in the patients undergoing PCI.

Prevalence of Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease in Assiut...

Study of the NAFLD in CKD Patients Using Fibroscan Study

The aim of our study is: The early detection of NAFLD in CKD patients with different stages (stage I to IV) to avoid progression to liver fibrosis. Evaluation of the relationship between the severity of fatty liver in NAFLD assessed by liver enzymes, biochemical markers, ultrasonography and grades of Fibroscan with CKD staging, eGFR and proteinuria.

The Association Between sUCR and the Survival in Patients With DKD

Diabetic Kidney Disease

Research Objective: To evaluate the prognostic value of serum urea nitrogen to creatinine ratio (sUCR) in the progression of DKD. Research Design: This study was designed as a multicenter, retrospective cohort study. According to sex and CKD stage , patients are divided into four groups, then evaluate the prognostic value of mean sUCR and ΔsUCR (fluctuation of sUCR over time, meaning monthly rate of change) in the progression of DKD.

Relationship Between Serum N/OFQ and Type 2 Diabetic Nephropathy

Diabetic Nephropathy Type 2

At present, the early diagnosis ability of diabetic nephropathy (DKD) is relatively poor, leading to some missed diagnosis of early disease patients. At the same time, because DKD patients have complex metabolic disorders, once they develop to end-stage renal disease, compared with other renal diseases, the treatment of DKD is more difficult and the prognosis is poor. At present, the main treatment for DKD is to strengthen blood glucose control and control blood pressure through renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS) to delay the occurrence and development of DKD, but it can not reduce the risk of most patients progressing to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). In recent years, it is becoming a new therapeutic target for DKD to control the inflammatory response by targeting the inflammatory factors and inflammatory signaling pathways. Therefore, this study attempts to explore the correlation between N / OFQ and the occurrence and development of type 2 DKD, and seek new theoretical basis for the potential treatment of inflammation.

Prevention of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Infection in Paediatric Kidney and Liver Transplant Recipients...

Paediatric Kidney or Liver TransplantationChronic Kidney Disease

Due to their immunosuppressive therapy, solid-organ transplant (SOT) recipients bear a 10 to 100 times higher risk of human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated malignancies than healthy individuals. The objectives of this observational, non-interventional multi-national, multi-centre research project are to gain an insight into current HPV vaccination strategies and to investigate the immune response to different routinely administered HPV vaccines in European paediatric SOT candidates and immunocompromised transplant recipients, enabling patients at risk of vaccination failure to be identified.
