IVUS Guided PCI for CKD to Reduce CI-AKI

Coronary Artery DiseaseChronic Kidney Diseases

Patients with Chronic kidney disease are most vulnerable to contrast induced nephropathy after Percutaneous coronary intervention, intravascular ultrasound guidance can be used to safely guide the procedure to reduce the contrast usage, this randomized trial is design to test the hypothesis that IVUS based ultra-low contrast PCI is feasible and can reduce the contrast induced nephropathy.

Treat Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease With Oral Ketone Ester?

ADPKD

The investigators are running a study to see if a special drink, called a "ketone ester", can help people with a type of kidney disease named "Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease" or ADPKD for short. The investigators want to find out: If it's easy for patients to take this drink every day for about 2 months. If it's safe and doesn't cause any problems. If it makes a difference in the size and function of the kidneys. Who can join? People between 16 to 70 years old who have ADPKD. Those with a certain amount of kidney size and function. People who haven't been on specific diets or lost a lot of weight recently. Women who are not breastfeeding and are using birth control. People with a body weight that is not too low or too high. Who cannot join? People who've been on a high-fat diet or skipped meals for a while recently. Those with other health conditions like diabetes or certain metabolic issues. Anyone who has a problem with getting an MRI scan. If participants are in another medical study right now. The study will happen in two Belgian hospitals and is supported by the UZ Brussel's nephrology department. The investigators hope to include 20 people and start in November 2023.

Bedtime Potassium Losartan on CKD With Nocturnal Hypertension Patients With Nondipping Blood Pressure...

Chronic Kidney Disease Patients

Nondipping blood pressure (BP) pattern is a potential independent risk factor for chronic kidney disease (CKD). Whether bedtime administration of potassium losartan has benefit for anti-hypertension and the prognosis of CKD patients is not clear. Patients with nondipping BP pattern or dipping BP pattern were enrolled in this study, and the patients with nondipping BP pattern were randomly divided into two groups and treated with bedtime or awakening doses of potassium losartan.

Effects of Microencapsulated Propolis and Turmeric in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic Kidney DiseasesInflammation

Oxidative stress and inflammation are correlated with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), in a way that they bring several harms to patients, including an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality. Adjuvant therapeutic options such as bioactive compounds present in some foods seem to mitigate inflammation. Turmeric and propolis are foods that have compounds with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capacity, as they promote the activation of nuclear erythroid transcription factor 2 (Nrf2 - responsible for the synthesis of antioxidant enzymes) and inhibit the activity of nuclear factor Kappa B (NF-κB - which increases the synthesis of inflammatory cytokines). This work aims to evaluate the effects of supplementation of associated propolis and turmeric microcapsules on inflammatory markers in patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis (HD).
