Despite many advances in our understanding of the natural history and progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and cardio vascular disease (CVD) in the parent CRIC study over the past 15 years, important questions about key risk factors for these diseases remain unanswered in the AI population. To address this burden of CKD in AI communities Investigators formed a consortium of investigators with extensive experience in conducting research of chronic diseases including diabetes, cardiovascular and kidney disease in AIs of Southwestern US. The proposed CRIC ancillary cohort study of 500 AIs (AI-CRIC) will rapidly improve our understanding of both potential risk factors for CKD progression, as well as the scope of this disease among AIs. This study leverages the current CRIC study and incorporates the planned activities of the next phase of the study - "CRIC 2018" - by implementing contemporary CRIC protocols for kidney and cardiovascular measurement and outcomes.

This is a multi-center cross sectional epidemiological study. The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease-Mineral and Bone Disorder (CKD-MBD) in Chinese population.

Our study is planning to evaluate patients with chronic kidney disease who come to the emergency department with chest pain. Estimated GFR (cisGFR) with cystatin and estimated GFR (creaGFR) with creatinine will be calculated. Symptoms, ECG and troponin values of patients will be evaluated for diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome

Aim of this study is to evaluate in a population of chronic kidney disease patients on dialysis (Stage 5D) the predictive value of bio-adrenomedullin (bio-ADM) level on vascular refilling rate.

For people with advanced kidney disease, deciding which type of dialysis is best can be challenging. Studies have shown that quality of life is very important to patients. It is thought that the quality of life of people receiving their dialysis at home may be better than the one of people receiving dialysis in a hospital. However, how the start of dialysis changes the quality of life of people who choose home dialysis in comparison to people choosing dialysis in a hospital is still unknown. TRANSIT-CARE is a prospective mixed methods study following adult with advanced kidney disease who progress to dialysis and receive home or hospital-based dialysis. This study aims to examine the trajectory and change in patients' quality of life and their frailty status (health, mobility and function) before start of dialysis and up to 12-month after start. Differences between people doing home dialysis and hospital-based dialysis will be assesses taking into account people's characteristics including their gender and socio-demographics characteristics. The study will include questionnaires to measure quality of life and tools to evaluate frailty. Additionally, semi-structured interviews will be done with a diverse group of patients and caregivers before and after the initiation of dialysis to better understand their experience of transitioning to dialysis.

The causes of mortality in kidney transplant patients and the risk factors for mortality have been widely published. However, there is a high variability according to geographical areas and time. Recent studies suggest that the classical hierarchy of causes of mortality, i.e. the predominance of cardiovascular causes of death, could be overturned by the increase in infectious and cancer-related deaths. Investigators will try to highlight this paradigm shift and the related risk factors by studying two large French transplantation databases.

This study aimed to discuss the correlation between interdialytic weight gain and cardiovascular diseases in children with end-stage kidney disease undergoing chronic hemodialysis. The cardiovascular parameters used include left ventricular hypertrophy, systolic and diastolic function, carotid intima-media thickness, myocardial circumferential strain, and strain rate.
