Efficacy of Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate in the Treatment of Hyperkaliemia in Pre-dialysis Patients...
HyperkalemiaChronic Kidney FailureThe purpose of this trial is to determine if sodium polystyrene sulfonate (SPS) is an effective treatment of mild hyperkalemia in chronic kidney disease patients followed at a pre-dialysis or nephrology outpatient clinic. Subjects will be randomized to one of two treatment arms: 30 g of placebo or SPS to be taken orally once daily for seven days. The change in serum potassium levels will be compared in both treatment groups. The proportion of subjects attaining normokalemia (3.5 to 5.0 mmol/L) after seven days of treatment will also be compared. Finally, side effects will be reported for each treatment arm.
Effect of the Synbiotic Probinul-Neutro® on Gastrointestinal Symptoms and Plasma p-Cresol Level...
Chronic Kidney DiseaseThe interest on gastrointestinal (GI) dysfunction in CKD has been growing in the last years. it is now accepted that GI dysfunction in dialyzed patients may contribute to systemic microinflammation by promoting gut dysbiosis and bacterial translocation in the blood. Another mechanism by which GI dysfunction contributes to systemic symptoms in CKD is related to metabolic activity of the dysbiotic microflora growing in the gut of these patients to generate toxic compounds such as phenols, indoles, and amines. Epidemiological evidence has strongly linked one of these compounds, p-Cresol, to cardiovascular risk and mortality in CKD. In the present paper the investigators investigated the effect of a probiotic/prebiotic mixture on plasma p-cresol concentrations and GI symptoms and in CKD patients not on dialysis yet.
Efficacy and Safety of Pomalidomide and Dexamethasone in RRMM Patients With Renal Insufficiency...
Multiple MyelomaThe primary purpose of the study is to determine the safety and efficacy and to generate PK and biomarker data for the combination of Pomalidomide and low-dose Dexamethasone in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, with moderate or severe renal impairment.
EVP-6124 Renal Impairment Study
Renal ImpairmentThe purpose of this study is to assess the pharmacokinetics of EVP-6124 and metabolites after a single oral dose in subjects with mild, moderate and severe renal impairment compared with subjects with normal renal function.
Pharmacokinetics of Sugammadex (MK-8616) in Participants With Moderate and Severe Renal Insufficiency...
Renal InsufficiencyRenal ImpairmentThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the plasma pharmacokinetics of a single 4 mg/kg intravenous (IV) dose of sugammadex in participants with moderate and severe renal insufficiency compared to that in participants with normal renal function. The study consists of two parts. In Part 1, participants with renal insufficiency and healthy participants will be administered study drug by IV bolus injection into a peripheral vein. In Part 2, participants with renal insufficiency and healthy participants will be administered study drug as an IV bolus into a peripheral vein, through an IV catheter connected to IV tubing with injection port. Subjects who participate in Part 1 of study may be enrolled in Part 2, which would reduce the overall number of participants enrolled for the study.

Renal InsufficiencyA Phase 1 study to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of ITCA 650 in subjects with mild and moderate renal impairment compared to the pharmacokinetics of subjects with normal renal function
Study of Pharmacokinetics of a Single IV Dose of CB-238,618 in Subjects With Varying Degrees of...
Healthy VolunteersRenal ImpairmentThe purpose of this study is to characterize the effect of renal function on the plasma, urine, and dialysate pharmacokinetic profile of MK-6183 (CB-238,618) in humans. The study will also assess the safety profile and tolerability of MK-6183 in healthy participants, participants with varying degrees of renal impairment (RI), or participants with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) requiring hemodialysis (HD), based on estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).
